Session 10: Svaar'Nultek II Report
General Summary
The Battle with Svaar'Nultek
The battle with Svaar'Nultek was both terrifying and swift. As soon as the fight began, the dragon lunged at Sunny, his jaws wide and hungry for the pure soul he needed to correct the imbalance within him. But just as quickly as he moved, we responded. Together, through a mixture of sheer will and what I can only describe as wild luck, we managed to halt his attack. The fight was brutal but our combined efforts brought the great dragon to his knees. He surrendered, a bitter acknowledgment of his defeat, and agreed to stand down, allowing us to attempt closing the rift within the Shattered Vale. As we parted ways, hoping this wasn’t truly goodbye, a portal suddenly materialized at the exit, blocking our way out of the cavern.
Entering the Veil
With no other choice, we stepped into the portal and found ourselves in a bleak, grayscale world—a Veil of a god. The terrain around us was desolate, drained of color, and filled with an unnatural stillness. We were uncertain of whose Veil we had entered though some of us suspected it might belong to Vixara, the Blood Matron. Despite our confusion, a beacon of blue light shone in the distance near a towering mountain at the center of this forsaken place, drawing us toward it.
The Vanth Warriors
As we made our way toward the beacon, we were suddenly ambushed by Vanth Warriors—grim creatures known as the guardians of the dead and defenders of the Umbral Veil. They attacked without mercy, and it was only after a fierce battle that we managed to defeat them. Their presence made it clear: we were not in Vixara’s domain but within the Umbral Veil, the shadowy plane of Mordos.
The Massive Gate
Determined to reach the beacon, we pressed on and soon arrived at a massive gate built into the side of the mountain. The gate seemed ancient with its surface covered in strange markings. When one of us touched it, there was a sudden flash, and in the blink of an eye, we found ourselves within the interior of the gate—a grand entry hall filled with riddles and a palpable sense of foreboding.
The Testing Chambers
As we stood there, a voice entered our minds, speaking directly into our thoughts. It was Morden, a psychopomp and servant of Mordos. He informed us that we were being tested but offered no further guidance. Our first challenge was a riddle that spoke of dreams. We solved it, each of us contributing our knowledge and wit. But the true test came when the statues around us came to life, judging us not just by our actions but by the heroics we had demonstrated throughout our journey. Through our words and deeds, we convinced them of our worth and they allowed us to pass further into the testing chambers.
The Dark Chamber
We ventured deeper into the halls, entering a chamber that was swallowed by darkness. The air was thick with tension and in the silence, we heard the echoing sound of footsteps rapidly approaching us from the depths of the darkness. Our hearts raced as we braced ourselves for whatever was coming next...
