Session 14: Beyond Castle Walls Report

General Summary

Recap:

  1. After deciding to take on the mission in Fortudo the capital of Salia/Decartis, the party gathers their things and gives their goodbyes before departing Northal Castle.
  2. With Celrin leading the troop, it's a relatively safe travel to the city of Secrix Castle, where Wren asked for the party to stop by along their journey.
  3. The new city is an massive change of pace from the life in Northal Castle, where the city's marvelous walls are home to slew of hard-working yet hospitable people.
  4. The party docks their ship at the port, and figure investigating the city's Cadgegap may offer a much quicker way to get to their destination of Fortudo.
  5. After inquiring at the Secrix Cadgegap, it appears as though travel through requires something called a 'Bronze Badge,' a medallion noting one's public artistic recognition and mastery.
  6. With nobody in the party being master Secran craftsman or artisans, they left the Cadgegap, but were approached by a dubious old man who asked to talk to them in a nearby alley.
  7. The party accepted, and when in a private space, the old man shifted into a young Secran wizard, who mentioned that he had access to a Bronze Badge, and would offer it to the party if they helped him steal a spellbook from the city's local museum, 'The Museum of Tremendous Works.'
  8. Noppa vehemently disavowed the offer, but the rest of the party kept it in mind as they left to the Museum; Wren's initial destination.
  9. At the Museum, the party waited briefly before being admitted in for free, in part for arriving early in the morning, but also due to the laid-back nature of the Museum curator, a woman going by Mrs. Liakos.
  10. Wren asked if the woman had seen her mentor Lian, and after a short instance, the woman recognized Wren as Lian's "assistant," and brought her to her office to give Wren a letter that had be left many months prior.
  11. While in Mrs. Liakos' office, Wren noticed that around her neck hung a small bronze medallion, and inquired if Mrs. Liakos had a Bronze Medallion.
  12. Mrs. Liakos offered a one-time trip through the Secrix Cadgegap if the party helped her get rid of a particularly troublesome demon in her basement. The party reluctantly accepted, and made their way downstairs.
  13. In the basement, a demonic voice began to call to the party, before being forced out into the open to confront everyone. The creature seemed immensely deadly, but luckily it went down quickly, and the issue was resolved.
  14. After a short night's rest, Mrs. Liakos made good on her offer to the party, and helped acquire Cadgegap travel to Fortudo, where the party emerged in a matter of moments.

The party killed the demon, and Mrs. Liakos kept her side of the bargain.
