Session 2: A Celebration of Peace Report

General Summary

Session Summary: After the signing of the Treaty of Thronehold the adventurers wait to attend the celebration of peace hosted at the castle of Queen Aurala ir'Wynarn. While enjoying the celebrations, the adventurers all receive a strange invitation to a "chamber" later that evening.
  Conclusion of the Ceremony

    • Servants pass around glasses of champagne, the party members finally have time to meet each other. While sipping champaign they mingle.
    • Alain seems offended by Doe's lack of knowledge on literally everything about the world. When Doe asks about what happened with the man who interrupted the ceremony, Alain states that the person getting dragged out is unimportant. Quintus joins their conversation and when he asks about the person getting dragged out he and Alain disagree on if that person being dragged out was important. Unlike Doe, both Alain and Quintus know who Oargev ir'Wynarn is.
    • Munia tries to get Sunia to talk but Sunia is not having it/is disinterested in socializing. Munia people watch while she tries to talk to her sister.
    • The Queen is escorted around the room to shake hands with all the important people present.
    • The Queen stops at the adventurer's row and just wishes them to have a wonderful time at the celebration. She greets Zero specifically and hopes that he finds peace and purpose in his new life as a sentient civilian of Khorvaire.
    • Kwanti d'Orien (current head of House Orien) is present at the celebration. Alain runs into him and has a polite conversation. Kwanti gives Alain his business card and tells him to come to see him. He could use some talented people to work on some projects in the future.
    • Quintus and Doe talk about what they did during the war. Doe healed people at the monastery while Quintus did stuff that, well, maybe he shouldn't talk about.

  The Celebration
    • Munia reaches over the open bar to make herself a drink and the guards are called on her. She disappears into the dance floor and safely escapes.
    • Sunia goes for the food and doesn't socialize, but enjoys the treats.
    • Doe and Quintus dance. They are approached by the Elf Rhyse and his partner Almadiah. Rhyse apologizes for how rude he was to Doe that morning, but his partner interrupts him and claims that he doesn't owe 'these people' an apology. He insists and then quickly leaves.
    • Everyone gets delivered their notes calling them to the "Chamber" at 11 PM at different times during the party.
    • During the fireworks, the party members dwindle out.

  The Job
    • The changeling introduces himself as Warx and invites the party to sit with him. He says that his master requires the adventurers to retrieve some special political documents for him from a member of the Royal Family in Thrane. After much deliberation, the party agrees on a price and as asks for 300 gp. Alain jumps in and states that the price is per person - earning the entire party a raise.
    • Warx says his master will pay for all travel, give them a 100gp per diem, and arrange for a cart and horses to meet them at the stables when they are ready to leave. He also offers to pay for their papers/new identification.
    • Warx urges all the characters to get their papers as soon as possible because crossing into Thrane can be an "ordeal."
Thrane
The party exchanges information about their knowledge of Thrane. Politically Thrane is very different from that of the other Five Nations.
    • During the Last War Thrane swapped from a monarchy to a theocracy with a symbolic monarch. The people of Thrane turned to the Church of the Silver Flame.
    • Queen Diani ir'Wynarn is a "blood regent" queen who advises the Council of Cardinals.
    • During the Last War 11-year-old, Jaela Daran was divinely chosen as the Keeper of the Flame. It is well known both in and out of Thrane that the child Keeper relies on the Council of Cardinals to run the country.
