Physical Description

Virdan is in exceptionally terrible shape, having likely done no more than an hour of physical exercise over the course of his entire life. He's very skinny, unathletic, and weak.

Personal history

Virdan's parents were born in Elaria, but moved to Cambeth just before was born. Virdan was highly bullied throughout his educational career, as well as making just a handful of friends just as nerdy as he was.
 
He joined the Protectors at age 52, believing them to be a group of people who respected Virdan's incredibly gifted spellcasting ability over his flaws and insecurities. He was wrong.
 
After the Underground became the Protectors once again, Virdan was involved in a small Elite Protectors errand to send an Ultroloth, an extraplanar being, back to his native plane of existence. Virdan was only hired to hold up the exit portal, and nothing more. After taking care of the monster, Virdan was excessively bullied by the Core Four of the Protectors, to the point of peer pressuring him to send Khorrak the Elemental Plane of Air for a solid minute.
 
The rest of that day was awful for Virdan, as the Elite Protectors had launched an investigation as to the identity of the Magician and the whereabouts of the final Singularity. Virdan, while not being the culprit of anything, was the subject of the meanest interrogations, being shoved into several supply closets by the Core Four.
 
After the resulting world-saving conflict, the Elite Protectors decided to keep the truth of the Singularities a secret, as someone who knew of the potential for godlike powers would be driven power-hungry, posing a threat to the world as once before. The rest of the Protectors had mostly no knowledge of the entire mission, as Rin Goldwing had kept the search for the Singularities top secret, known only by the Elite Protectors. Virdan, from his invasive interrogations, also knew of the Singularities, so the Elite Protectors decided to wipe his memory (note: some posit that Virdan's involvement with Operation: Otherworlds, of which nothing is known, could've also been reason for the mind wipe). This process, while efficient, was imperfect, and didn't wipe every essence of Virdan's memories of the Singularites. A few months after this event, Virdan left the Protectors without any notice whatsoever.
 
In the next few years, a gathering of people, known only to the Vallandian criminal underworld, began making a name for themselves. A new player in the crime world, known only by his alias V, quickly took a vacancy as the supreme giver of information and secrets in the criminal underworld. This V had started his own religion, more aptly called a cult, in the pursuit of the truth of the Protectors' operations. This "Church of the Arcane Petrological" believed in the existence of seven singularities that came into being during the Great Partition. V claims that only the Protectors and himself know of these singularities, manifested in the form of immensely powerful arcane crystals.
 
Whether V started the Cult in pursuit of illicit power in the criminal underworld or the actual pursuit of a Protectors conspiracy is truly unknown. Regardless, the Church of the Arcane Petrological is both the most mysterious and of the most powerful organizations that operate in Valland's world of crime.

Education

Virdan performed exceptionally well in school, consistently the top of his class and always the overachiever. While Cambeth's education system isn't on par with something as prestigious that Valland or Elaria has to offer, Virdan certainly belonged in one of those schools.

V is an incredibly powerful contact and player in the criminal underworld. Any with V on their good side are in the upper class of crime; any with V on their bad side have already been erased. V is in especially good standing with the Cromoni Family, although before the death of former godfather Searus Cromoni.
