Karl Klosterban was an ambitious and cunning man, that had built and wielded the Klosterban name for many years. He had vast enterprises and industries in his name, gathering political support to further his ever growing plans. When the local tribes of the land posed an issue for him, he had them taken care of, causing the curse that tormented the land so many years later. When his end came during the the war of the 4 Divines, at the hands of a rival family the Tundersons, it was not quick or painless.
 
However even death was not the end of him, as with the mist so had he returned to walk the halls of the Klosterban mansion once more.
 
It was here that the party originally encountered him, where he gave his side of the transpired events. His version painted the local tribe and Serpent Tree as a malevolent force that was responsible for the recent events.
 
When the party returned after the subduing of the Serpent Tree, he had seemingly grown in power and seemed more specter-like. He inquired after their actions and was interested in their capabilities. He offered them employment if they were willing to help him take back control of the region, some undead governorship.
 
The asked for some time to consider, but when left alone they tried to break into some rooms. They intruded upon his Undead Boarfolk and he quickly tried to cast them down. After a fierce battle, he was finally defeated and dissapated vowing to return.
 
Later a body was found, presumably that of Karl, which was quickly splashed with holy oil and ignited.
