Military soldier with a death wish

Basa Duvad grew up an urchin, not because his parents died, but because as a rebellious nine year old boy he ran away from home, got lost, and never found his way back home. He would spend most of his evenings outside a local pub listening to soldiers talk about their 'brotherhood' and grew up longing for family, for kinship. As soon as he was old enough he enlisted in the military. While serving he came to believe that if he survived long enough to be discharged he would just be on the streets again. With this in mind Duvad began volunteering for every dangerous mission that he came across. After beating odds and surviving several 'suicide missions' he was offered a post working for the Warden in Harrenhall and he jumped at the opportunity.
