One of the last members of the broken and humiliated race of Dusk Elves. He will stop at nothing to avenge his sister and slay the traitor Rahadin
Kasimir Velikov is one of the last members of the dying race known as the Dusk Elves. His people were slaughtered at the hand of the traitor Rahadin when they resisted Strahd hundreds of years ago. The heroes met him in Madame Eva's camp when the seer foretold of his future alliance with the party. It was there that he aided them in their first encounter with Rahadin and the Black Coach.
Kasimir's hatred for Rahadin and Strahd runs deeper than one can imagine. His sister, Patrina was revealed to have been the reincarnation of Tatyana. Strahd pursued her relentlessly and eventually found her hiding amongst her people. In defiance of him, the dusk elves stoned her to death rather than let her be taken by the Dark Lord. A great battle then ensued between the Dusk Elves, led by Kasamir and Strahd's army of the night under the command of Rahadin.
The Dusk Elves and the creatures of the night fought for seven days and seven nights until the elves were overrun by the seemingly endless numbers of the dead brought forth by Strahd and Rahadin. When the battle was over, Strahd hunted down and captured every Dusk Elf woman and child, slitting their throats in front of what remained of the Elven men.
Kasimir himself was made to kneel closest to the slaughter. Once the last Elven woman was killed in front of him, Rahadin cut off the tips of Kasamir's ears as a final humiliation.
Hundreds of years have passed since that day. The Dusk Elves are a broken and all but dead race. Kasamir has wandered the valley ever since, taking up as a friend to the Vistani. He has spent the past few hundred years watching Rahadin, waiting for the moment that Tatyana's soul comes once more to the realm of the living. For he knows one thing; Strahd will stop at nothing to have her and will send his most trusted lieutenants into the Valley in order to take her. When that moment comes, Rahadin will let his guard down in his dogged pursuit to please his dark master.
When that moment comes, Kasamir will avenge his people. Then maybe the soul of his tormented sister will finally stop calling to him in his dreams...
