Powerful Ealdorman of Mercia

Ealdorman Ceolred is one of the more powerful Ealdorman remaining in Mercia. He is lucky that much of his land located in current Merica instead of the lands seized by the Danes. Since the midlands was never an affluent part of the kingdom, this has shifted him from a relatively minor noble into one of significant power within the Mercian court. The King is now ever reliant on his thanes and warriors to help him defend what remains of Mercia.
