Defining Moments

 

Eyes Wide Shut ...

 
At the age of 17 Sarah was in a fatal car crash with her parents. As she lie there fading in and out her perceptions flickered momentarily opening her to the call of life from the supernal realms. Unable or unwilling to embrace and awaken she could see the life energies fading from her parents all the while her body not only held on but stabilized. She failed to awaken but also failed to return to sleep. Spending many years with one foot in both worlds before she fully awakened. She has never forgiven herself for that moment but spends much of her time trying to repent for it by saving lives. This sleep-walking often interfered with her studies and life causing her to appear distracted or limited. However it also provided amazing insights and unexplained successes.

Dawn of Truth

 
Sarah's team was first on the scene not because they were dispatched but because they were right behind the potentially fatal three car crash. While this pushed Sarah into action it also sent her spiraling back into her memories of five years prior.


 
The car was bent around him, no, through him, his leg. There would not be time to cut him free he was going to bleed out and die. There was nothing she could do. She could see his life ebbing from him, was she hallucinating again, not now, not like her parents. She closed her eyes to hold back the tears.


 
She was standing somewhere else, somewhere immense looking up at an impossibly large structure. Mom to the left, dad to the right. Why were they blocking her from touching it, why were they holding her back? She missed them so much. "You can save him, focus, they are not your barrier. They are your strengths. Twisted wreckage and metal are no master, you are your own master. Open your mind, write your name and wake the fuck up! You will not get another chance." The voice was older, male and firm, and surprisingly close. She could feel her hands on the man covered slick with blood, but she could only see the wall she was reaching for. There was a blinding flash that scourged he mind and soul. Seconds felt like hours as the world finally changed falling into focus for the first time. She could see the threads of reality pouring through her into the dying man as she lifted him, his body passing impossibly through the metal as if it was a ghost, no, passing through a lie. Part of the lie!


 



 
Sarah fell back stumbling and dragging the man away from the car. Her mind walking on the edge of new found greatness while her body faltering on the brink of collapse. She awoke a day later in the hospital room to meet Alex Walker. The man that would become her mentor, her personal task master and eventually like a grand father to her as she fell head long into the world beyond the lie.


 

Nothing would ever be the same again, Pandora's box was open and there was no putting Humpty Dumpty back together again.

The Way She Looks

 
Sarah is an attractive and fit young lady of Irish heritage. She is in fantastic physical condition allowing her to be ready for the variety of obstacles when saving lives. She keeps a regular regime of yoga, swimming and meditation. Her fiery red hair matches her temperament to get things done while her calm and caring dark eyes gives a feeling of warmth and peace.


 
She is often seen wearing her emergency medical uniform from her duties for St Mary's Hospital. Other wise she commonly wears colorful loose yoga pants and a crop top or whatever whimsical rave clothing she can cobble together.


 

The Way She Acts

 
Sarah is generous to a fault. She has faith in the fact she can always help and finds it devastating when she cannot help. She has dedicated her heart and time to helping and healing which shows through in everything she does. Most of her early schooling revolving around her desire to become a paramedic in emergency response situations.


 
Sarah has lust for life flowing through her veins. She finds it hard to turn down any experience she enjoys, be it ice cream or flirting.

Sarah has always believed that you should work hard and play hard. Since gaining the sometimes overwhelming mage-sight into everyday life she enjoys nights at a rave allowing her to bury her senses with the loud music, bright lights and crush of people.


 



 
Following the car crash that took her parents Sarah is very uncomfortable being in cars, especially as a passenger. The anxioty of not being in control of the vehicle is an obstacle for her. While in contrast she has no problem driving an ambulance at high speeds in and around traffic to save lives. On her downtime she enjoys opening up her motorcycle with little care of her destination.


 
She secretly struggles to reconcile the World of Darkness around her with its supernatural nuances contrasted to her strict Catholic upbringing.
