My return to the Realm of Reality (subjectively)

Recently thanks to circumstances completely out of my control brought about the annihilation of my previously held note-taking materials. Years of journaling, documentation, notation, arcane formulae, research, spell theory and the like gone in a flurry of violence! However, with their loss, I have come across new and interesting developments in my own power as I would have never suspected. Although I do not as of yet understand where this cultivated arcane power I now possess originates it is certainly something in my blood awakened after this period of incredible stress, of this I am most certain. Ah, I suppose I should preface this beginning of a new account as to the former mention of profoundly violent experience.
 
I was recently in a great magical labyrinth with my erstwhile companions when the kobold known as 'Squeak' trapped me within a magical book. Within this realm of paper and ink, I was suddenly and viciously accosted from all sides by truly hideous creatures. They were a diversely horrific bunch, being made of entirely too many individually menacing bits and pieces. I quickly ran out of spells and then magical devices until I was forced to use my admittedly unpracticed abilities at melee combat. I would be trapped in this desperate state for what I recollect as a decade, unable to rest for the prerequisite time to replenish my personal stores of magic. It was during this tumultuous experience that I came upon my personal power. I have heard at various times that such magical power can reside in the blood of mortals descended from dragons or other such powerful creatures.
 
Regardless it was only these impressive powers that allowed me to survive my time amongst the papers. Luckily I was released by my companions where I learned it had been mere minutes since my unexpected departure. Regardless we have escaped our labyrinthine prison back into the proper world of Orasrupt. I shall endeavor now, alongside my ongoing investigation at the behest of our mysterious client, to discover the origin of my newfound power.
