An aasimar girl belonging to the Whitecrest family, Ophelia was one of a pair of fraternal twins born to Helena and Lysander Whitecrest. She and her brother Kaya were all but inseparable as children, the shy and dutiful Ophelia followed her older brother like a shadow. The curse haunting the Whitecrest bloodline eventually claimed both twins, however Kaya suffered the worst of the two and had to be isolated to curb the rapid deterioration of his health.
Without her brother’s protection Ophelia faced the overwhelming pressure from their strict and unforgiving father alone, and neglect from their grief-stricken mother as she withdrew into herself and began to blame Kaya’s misfortune on her daughter. Ophelia learned to repress her emotions and drove herself half to madness trying to win the approval of her father and the love of her mother - an ultimately fruitless effort.
