This shady man is the owner of the Wallace estate. The Wallace's used to be a name respected for their integrity and honor, who treated their laborers as well as their guests, and their guests as well as kings. Lately, the Wallace name as fallen to Jonah, the latest head of the household. Jonah has always been a cheat and a schemer, lining pockets of influential allies and cultivating illegal drugs to fuel his greed and thirst for power. To be indentured to the Wallace household now means oppressive overseers, insufficient food, and subhuman treatment.
 
Jonah seems to have been in the business of harvesting soul gems, but his motivations are unclear.  Adventurers, at the behest of King Koignar of the Marble Throne, were sent to defeat him while overseeing one of his mines, and succeeded.
