After nearly a decade of PI and bounty work, Min-hee is bored. It pays the bills and her family is proud of what she’s accomplished. But there’s more to the world than bad guys v. good guys, right?
Min-hee has generations of family rooted in the monastery tucked away in mountain range. A safe place dedicated to unearthing the mysteries surrounding the dragons that fled to this place and the magic they brought with them.
Four generations back the family began to see changes in their children. Strange animal-like features that could not be explained. Some elders believe it’s a curse bestowed by Bahamut for disturbing ancient and sacred spaces. Others believe it instead a blessing for pursuing the truth and uncovering such secrets.
Min-hee believes the world will bring answers to the questions her family seeks answers for. She works as a PI and bounty hunter. She hopes to find answers following the underbelly of the Branded Rifts. If not, at least she got the experience - seeing both sides of the story.

Personal history
Character name:
Oh, Min-Hee (오민희) (in Korean, the family name precedes the person’s name)
Race: Shifter/Swiftstride
Class: Monk
Gender Identity: She/Her/They/Them
Why are they adventuring?:
She’s getting tired of PI work. She’s been at it for almost a decade. It pays the bills and her family is proud of what she’s accomplished. But there’s more to the world than bad guys v. good guys, right? Maybe there are more places like these islands with mysteries to uncover.
What is their end goal/What would make them stop adventuring:
She would halt adventuring if there was a death in the family. Also, if the monastery were in danger. In these situations, she would drop everything and return to help.
End goal, die happily having seen new culture, natural wonders, and having met many interesting people.
What is a happy memory from childhood?:
Practicing martial arts with her grandfather only days before he passed. She holds onto this memory dearly.
What was the lullaby they were sung. If there wasnt one, why not?:
A Child in the Island House:
When mama goes to the mudflats to pick oyster
Baby remains alone watching the house
To a lullaby the ocean sings
His arms as a pillow, baby falls asleep.
While baby is sleeping soundly
Seagull’s crying sound throbs her mind
Half empty oyster basket on her head,
Up the gravel road, Mama comes running home.
Tell me about a love from your early life. If there wasnt one, why not?:
There’s a large farm next to the monastery. She secretly loved the farmer’s son from afar. Family values prevented her from pursuing the relationship. Although, she went to visit him regularly with the excuse “picking up fresh lettuce for dinner”. His name is Elkas. Similar age and half-elf. Elkas never made fun of or pointed out her shifter traits. After Min-hee left the monastery to begin her PI career, Elkas was recruited to work with the local militia. She never heard from him again.
Are you native to this land. Why are you here?:
Yes, Min-hee has generations of family rooted in the monastery tucked away in mountain range.
What is your characters religion, or, if there isnt one, a code, set of rules, or belief they live by. Why is that the choice they made?:
Way of the Ascendant Dragon – worship and practice dedicated to Bahamut. This belief/code is all she knows. She was born and raised in a monastery built in Bahamut’s honor.
What is a real life song, that could be their theme music, what plays in their head, or tells me something about their life/personality.:
I’m terrible with songs and such. I don’t have an answer to this.
Where do they live?:
She comes and goes between the monastery and which ever town or village hires her.
What do they think of this land?:
She treasures it, but knows there’s more to the world than these islands.
Why did you pick the race, and class, you picked?:
I’d never come across this race previously and thought it might be fun to run. I chose monk because I had not played as one in a very long time!
I think I may have gotten a little too tangled here and I’m feeling a bit out of my comfort zone. It felt safe for the past few months. Boy was I wrong.
I’m happy to have found an inside source. Lailo is quite the character. His values are strange, but I appreciate his candor and the fact that he doesn’t point out my “strange” features. He’s paid his dues to me in information after I convinced the constable to release him after a debacle between authorities and novice gangs. After running into him time and time again during various jobs, seeing him in that cell I knew we could both benefit from his release.
He’s hard to keep track of, but when I do find him, he always has the latest tips and a great story to go along with it.
That said, Lailo, was about as helpful as a rock in the road when dealing with Mr. Creed. Mr. Creed knows that I know his company is delving into local mines unauthorized. This is a big deal. I just can’t prove it yet. I’m close, and Mr. Creed knows it. I might have leveraged this to force his hand some extra coin playing a couple rounds at his establishment.
What Lailo didn’t know, is that Mr. Creed isn’t the leader. I just know there’s someone else involved in the operation and I’m afraid they’ll threaten the monastery. The problem is, I can’t get the stories to line up. I feel like I’m caught in a wild goose chase. Mr. Creed’s assassins are following me around trying to threaten me. Nothing feels like it did. Something bad is coming.
