After being asked to leave the Bard's College, Carridin returned home to her father to train in his militia. Spurred on by her failure Carridin trained diligently in the soldier's way. After all, there's more than one way to gain renown as a bard.

Aeryn and Gaias hardly got along but she respected her brother enough to come home from time to time. During such a visit, Aeryn found and saved the life of a Yoru elf named Tebryn. Gaius remained cautious. He knew little of Tebryn and only the basics of the Yoru and Ake elves.

Eventually, Aeryn became pregnant with Tebryn's child. Despite his opposition to their union, Gaius came to accept Tebryn and his niece, Carridin. However, soon after she was born, Tebryn was summoned back to the Netherworld for "something important". Aeryn waited day and night and fell into a deep depression. On the eve of Carridin's 3rd birthday she left in the middle of the night vowing to find Tebryn.

Following the loss of his sister and brother-in-law, Gaius took in young Carridin. While he was inexperienced caring for a child, he found help from his patrons, House Yenlamir, whose nursing maid took to looking after Carridin and Yenlamir's heir, Elorin.

Deepwater 5th, Noon?

This is the first time where I am at a loss for words. While we may tease and argue, I believe that many of us do care about one another. It is hard to say where some of us stand but at the end of the day, I believe that I do have real allies. Father always said that true friends will stand up for you even after you shot them in the back because you mismanaged your bow. I'd like to think this still applies.

However, Tellefax worries me. I've agreed to keep his condition a secret and I want to honor our friendship. His situation is growing worse. In exchange for power it seems his curse has spread and he's taken on a darker...persona I suppose. When we reach the next settlement, I'd like to ask for father's guidance on this issue and see if Elorin might have any thoughts on how to handle this.
