Mentality

Personal history

As far as they remember, Zensys has always lived in the monastery of the Brotherhood of the Way of Mercy. At the age of 54, they discovered one of their fellow monks, Elric, to be practicing forbidden, arcane magics. Zensys, with the limited knowledge of magic they possessed, attempted to stop Elric from finishing the spell. They did indeed succeed in preventing the spell from reaching fruition, but it ended up killing Elric and leaving Zensys permanently disfigured. When the rest of the monks found them at the scene, the monks did not recognize them. Despite Zensys' desperate pleas, they assumed them to be responsible for the death of Elric, and the supposed death of Zensys themselves. They took Zensys prisoner, but they managed to escape. They have been wandering the world ever since, taking odd jobs here and there in order to survive. Although they used to long for their simple life back at the monastery, they have since given up hope of ever returning.

Education

Upbringing at the monastery, and research conducted since their banishment into the Arcane(part of why they initially agreed to accompany a newly-discovered Sorcerer they encountered).

Employment

Odd jobs here and there.

Mental Trauma

They were blamed for their own death by the people who they viewed as family.

Intellectual Characteristics

Wise beyond their years, but not overly intellectual.

Morality & Philosophy

Grew up in the Brotherhood of the Way of Mercy, and as such will often help those in need. However, their time out in the world has hardened them, so while they will still respond to the pleas of the less fortunate, they are now less likely to offer the extravagant assistance they once did.

No sexual preference, but still holds to their vows of celibacy from the brotherhood. This could change though, given the right person.

The monks did not acknowledge gender roles, and Zensys is often puzzled by how seriously some people take them outside of the monastary.
