Epilogue
Haurun traveled back to Eqb'sh, and there he felt alone once more. The sediment of many kingdoms smothered the ashes of his home. There was not even a site where he could pay his respects to his wife. Instead, he made one final request of Osiris: "Take me so that I might end my service unto others and finally be at rest."
Haurun was at peace, and he sat and submitted himself to the final death.
Haurun felt a gentle rocking, and he found himself on a boat floating down a river alongside a shore of reeds. He looked at himself and saw that his original body was intact, free of bandages. The boat reached a pier beside a great tomb with large, stone gates. A tall man stood before the gates, holding a crooked staff. He had a kindly face and wore a tall, white atef. His legs were bound in white wrappings. He held a hand outstretched to Haurun.
Osiris spoke:
"In my time of absence, there was a great darkness and undoing. Haurun, you have succeeded where even I failed. I judge you and see that your deeds now outweigh your wrongs. You have earned your rest, and you are a servant no longer."
Osiris opened the great stone doors and bid Haurun to enter. Haurun walked through the great stone doors, where his wife and an eternity of afterlife awaited him.
