She acted as a royal liaison for her Father during the Dragon Crisis, allowing him to continue ruling his Kingdom despite being holed up in Gern-Kohldur, effectively trapped by the Red Dragon which laired in the mountain top that the fortress was built into. 
 
During this time, she created a secret identity and acted as owner and manager of the Firemane Tavern on the northern end of the Dwarven district in Drathe. Her brothers Fenrir and Thorin also acted as liaisons to the King, helping conceal themselves from potential spies. Her brothers also took on jobs as miners, using the secret entrance within the mines to enter the fortress when needed, but also assisted her with running the tavern during their "days off" from mining.
 
After the Heroes of Valendrall, the Planeswalkers, defeated the Red Dragon and his minions, she was thrust more deeply into the kingdom's political dealings, beginning with negotiating a truce with the Fire Giants.
