Since the ripe age of 7, Raven has had a small fascination with cities. Some would say it started with her parent's retelling of the story "The Streets of De'aNij'hun" In which, is told the tales of foes and treasures found on the streets of this bleak and solitude island. Raven's mother, Nian, told her about the great keeper of the gates, Buholt'er, who once did slay all beasts who came up from the sea one full-mooned night. The night of the red sea, it was called. No one knew how or why the sea creatures came out from the water to attack innocent souls, nor did they care, all they wanted was safety and the Gatekeeper gave them that. The Great Buholt'er slew all creatures and rid the shore of vile. De'aNij'hun was grateful and blessed him with the blood-soaked gauntlet of their favored deity, Helm. While their Keeper of Gates aged and wore, his family grew bigger. Establishing their legacy in the great mansion of De'aNij'hun. It had been prophecied that the Great Gatekeeper would one day return for his Gauntlet and protect the land once again. Protecting their city and the gauntlet was passed down through the firstborns of the Founding Family, Nijaner. Making Raven's mother the Keeper of Helm's Gauntlet. Raven's fascination grew with age, but she never thought herself strong enough to leave her family and home to travel. That was until Nian disappeared. Without her mother, Raven is left to question what happened. As protector of the Gaunlet, Raven did all she could to make sure of it's safety, but one sullied, dark, and full-mooned night came and the masked men rose. Raven, sleeping peacefully, was pulled out of her bed and forced to watch as the Gauntlet was smashed in, along with her father's head. Hours spent in a dark bag lead to bright caves crowded with madmen. Some masked man experimented on Raven for hours at a time with no regard for her life. Injected and mutilated, Raven sits still in her cell of five years and prays for escape. A solid five years by sea would drive some people crazy but, Raven finds the wooshing quite relaxing. As she prays, a wave crashes into her window, and drops of shining blue sea ooze out of the panes.
