Personal history
Aldric was taken by the military at a very young age by the Skovlan military. He doesn't remember his biological family well, but he does remember his brothers and sister. His fellow child soldiers that he grew up with. They fought for the Skovlan military for most of their young lives, they had a reputation for being able to take care of things the normal military couldn't because of their ruthless nature and lack of reliance on the rest of the military.
Toward the end of the war, Aldric's squad "Ullr's Children," were captured in a trap laid specifically for them by Captain Mercy, an officer of the Imperial Military that the "Children" had eluded and clashed with numerous times. In the weeks leading up to the surrender of the Skovlan military "Ullr's Children" were tortured by Mercy and her soldiers. Aldric survived, but only to watch his brothers and sisters succumb to the torture one by one leaving only himself and Sawtooth as the sole survivors.
Plank, the youngest member of Children, everyone's little brother. Aldric can remember watching his thin wiry body being wheeled out to be dumped into the mass graves, his screams echoing in his head "HAUL I'M SCARED! PLEASE DON'T LET THEM TAKE ME!"
Heave, also named Aldric at birth, he and Aldric we're exactly the same age and had a constant brotherly rivalry developed in early childhood by their officers to improve the two's motivation. Unfortunately, this lead to more hatred than love between the two brothers, but brothers they were none the less. Knowing his time had come the last thing Heave said to Aldric was "It's up to you Haul to make this right. We all believe in you brother."
Nora, the "leader" of the squad, the younger member's defacto mother. Aldric's first love, her death was undoubtedly the hardest to cope with. He begged Mercy to take him, he offered to torture other Skovlan POWs to spare her. He got to watch her death for his efforts.
Now Aldric has been living in Duskwall for several years, and the past year has given Aldric the closest thing to peace he's known ever since he and his siblings thought themselves invincible, towards the end of their time as free men and women. He's found friends who he's come to think of a family of sorts. Templeton cared enough about him, and other skovlanders, to flush his career down the drain for Aldric's freedom and then through work he met Twill. Aldric had never met anyone like Twill before Twill, but as much as he was an oddity it was a good oddity, he was a kind hearted understanding man who accepted Aldric from the beginning. And the trio began a successful business venture together, Templeton, Twill and Associates, mostly built on illicit actions done against the current of the law. Amidst this new lifestyle the three of them found a culture among the underside of society that each of them had their own reasons to despise. The three of them pursued this villain and it cost them more than Aldric was willing to lose in the end. Templeton was killed, Aldric was convicted and sentenced for murder, and Twill's already queer mind fractured further.
Now after his conviction has been served Aldric is exiting Ironhook, a free man again, but with more emotional weight on his shoulders than ever before.
