Raised in slavery to other Duergar alongside his beloved brother Yacob, Byjorn originally accepted his position as mere chattel in the mines and cities of the Underdark. He was bought and sold multiple times throughout his youth, but the only thing that kept him sane was the fact that his brother was always bought and sold with him as a pair. But then one day, a Duergar named Karron bought the brothers. Karron was a One-eyed Duergar with an eyepatch who has his hands in all kinds of terrible business both above and below ground. He always had horrible slave masters, but he was the most monstrous of them all. A terrible life became even more terrible as the brothers were pushed to the brink of their physical and mental capacities. After some months, Byjorn's and Yacob had enough. They hatched a plan to make a grand escape together. They planned it for months. However, during the escape, they were being pursued by Karron's slave masters and Yacob fell behind. Byjorn saw Yacob apprehended by the Masters and had no other choice than to leave without Yacob. This decision is too much for Byjorn to bear, despite escaping his slavers, the mines, and the Underdark. His only real token of his brother is a pet mouse, Tot, who him and his brother cared for together. His pain is so deep that he drowns his sorrows in alcohol regularly, but there are 3 things he cares for in this world; his pet mouse Tot, Finding Yacob, and getting revenge on Karron... at any cost.
