I was an orphan. I never met my parents, they abandoned me in an orphanage when I was just a small baby. I lived there until I was 8, then I ran away. I had to run away, I was beaten daily, and they hardly gave me any food to eat. It was a true nightmare.
On the streets, I started peddling small goods and stealing food just to survive. One day, an old librarian caught me stealing and instead of taking me to the guards, he took me to his library and adopted me as his apprentice. He saved me from a life of crime and corruption. He taught me how to read and how to write in Common and Elvish. He raised me as if I was his own son. Later, I discovered my passion for books and magic, and soon enough I found myself casting some low tier spells and experimenting in evocation.
I devoted my time to studying the multiverse, reading and researching about all types of magic and History.
I read and comprehended all the books in the library I was raised in and found myself with a thirst for knowledge that I could never imagine.
At the age of 30 I was already fluent in the languages of Elvish, Dwarvish, Draconic and Gnomish and created my own spell book, filled with useful spells and cantrips, some of them intended for combat since I had the intention of exploring the world, going on adventuring to gather with the most prestigious mages and scholars, seeking ancient knowledge, lost through the ages.
One day, when I was near The Great Spine, I found a strange trail, like someone was dragging something heavy. I followed said trail and it led me to a forest, there I was met with a small figure dragging a boulder that was strapped to its waist, a female Dwarf it seemed. I approached her, engaging her in her native tongue and asked why she was strapped to a boulder, and why she dragged it all the way to the forest. She replied that she was a warrior from a mighty clan and that she had the mission of exploring the outside world, and as for the boulder, she said that a few clan members told her about a supernatural occurrence which could cause you to fall into the sky and that it was a precaution for when it would happen.
I explained to her that there was no such thing as falling into the sky and that what her clan members probably heard about was levitating potions. At first, she seemed suspicious about my explanation, but after some time she gained enough trust to release the burden that she was dragging along with her. We decided that it was for the best if we stood together and carried on adventuring, after all I needed some sort of protection since traveling alone in an unknown region could be rather dangerous.
Now, working alongside this newly aquired partner, I will adventure forth and seek the knowledge and magic only the greatest wizards of all time have ever known.
