Personal history
Celeste was born on a boat of the coast of the island of Evermeet, an island created by ancient elves. The island was lifted up from the sea by ancient elven wizards in an attempt to escape from the wars that the other races waged with each other. Therefore only elves were allowed to be on the island, any non-elf found on the island would either be executed or exiled.
Her father, however, didn't care. The famous explorer Arthur Amor wanted to be the first human to map the island of Evermeet. He saw the opportunity to forever cement his name in the history books and make enough money to live out the rest of his days in a small castle. He convinced a crew of elven sailors known as the Water Dancers to smuggle him to the island. Nobody has been able to convince Arthur to reveal how he did it, not even Celeste.
Arthur reached the island hiding in a small box, which was meant to be full of fruits from the mainland. The Water Dancers were meant to take this box to a secluded area where Arthur would be able to get out in secret but instead it was picked up by Celeste's mother, Stella Magdan. Stella worked at a fruit stall which was expecting the delivery from the mainland and so when she noticed the box she had some workers move it to the shop for her. But when she opened it and found Arthur she was surprised, to say the least. Although Celeste has pestered her parents for answers they won't tell how Arthur managed to charm his way out of that situation but he did, and eventually the two fell in love.
Arthur would stay in hiding working in the back of the fruit shop while Stella worked the front, all the while saving up for a secluded cabin where they could live together in peace. However, before they saved up enough money, Stella fell pregnant. The fear of raising a half-elven child out in the woods, secluded, forced Stella to ask her family for help. Sadly though, when Stella approached her family, her mother alerted the authorities of the unlawful union between the two. Stella and Arthur were told that they would be exiled and were sent away to Neverwinter on a ship.
Because they were forced out of their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs, Stella, Arthur and Celeste were forced to live homelessly. Stella's knowledge of plants and fruits served them well living in the woods. And Arthur's ability to charm any passers-by into charity meant Celeste never had to go without. One day, however, luck struck as Arthur brought home some friends he had made. As it turns out, these friends were members of the high council of mages at the mage college of Neverwinter.
The Archmage of the Neverwinter college could sense a great magical potential within the family and offered them all a place in the college. The family were moved to the Selune dormitories and almost immediately settled in. Arthur became a powerful illusionist while Stella's transmutation magic was almost unparalleled within the college. This high standing within the college and extended magical community meant that Celeste had gone from a small homeless girl foraging in the woods to a girl with access to some of the best magical tutors and their research.
Celeste studied under some of the best magicians the college had to offer and along the way even completed the ritual to summon a familiar who took the form of a cat-dragon and is known as Perseus. Her powers grew and the Archmage, Lilliane Le'trois, believed that Celeste's divination abilities would be of great benefit to the lord of Neverwinter. And so Celeste was put into the service of Lord Neverwinter in return for access to the royal library whenever she pleased. Lord Neverwinter determined that Celeste's abilities would be best put to use in an expedition to the town of Phandalin which had recently been take over by bandits. Celeste was partnered up with five other heroes and sent off to save the town, her story only beginning.

Family Ties
Celeste has a good relationship with her mother, Stella Amor, and her father, Arthur Amor.
Stella is the avatar of Sehanine Moonbow meaning that it could be said that Sehanine is Celeste's mother, the woman who raised her.
When Celeste was growing up there was a lot of secrecy surrounding Stella's family. It is now known that Stella's brothers and sisters (Celeste's uncles and aunts) are her fellow avatars. Celeste has met her aunt Kyarrah (the avatar of Naralis Analor). She does not know any other members of Stella's family.
Due to Celeste's weird connection to the elven gods, they could also be classed as her family though it is hard to define how they would be related. If they were classed as her family, this would lead to people such as Elistraee being Celeste's adoptive sister and also Raina being related to Celeste in some strange way.
There was also a lot of secrecy surrounding Arthur's family when Celeste was growing up.
In the absence of her mother, Sister Garaele became a motherly figure to Celeste.
At a young age Celeste summoned her familiar, a tressym called Perseus. Perseus quickly became a mentor for Celeste and has helped to guide her through life. Celeste considers Perseus to be a part of her family.
Religious Views
Celeste grew up in a household where two different celestial gods were worshipped. Stella worshipped Selune (the celestial goddess of creation and the moon) and Arthur worshipped Tymora (the celestial goddess of luck). She has also lived in the Selune dormitories her whole life. Due to this, Celeste worships many gods including Selune, Tymora, Oghma, Sehanine and also Tyche.
When Celeste was born her avatar soul was tied to Sehanine Moonbow (the elven goddess of spirits and the moon) and her human soul was tied to Tymora.
Due to unknown reasons, Stella tried to transfer Celeste's avatar soul ownership over to Tymora with some help from Sister Garaele. However, this procedure did not got to plan and instead resulted in a severed tie with Sehanine (meaning she still has ownership over Celeste's avatar soul, the connection is just broken) and also meant that Tymora no longer had full ownership over Celeste's human soul.
When Celeste died, Oghma (the celestial god of knowledge) wanted to claim Celeste's soul from Tymora. Tymora had tried to hide the part of Celeste's soul that belonged to no one to try and keep it safe but Oghma found out about it and was very determined to take full ownership of her soul. Oghma and Tymora argued for years about who should have ownership over her whole soul. Xera was charged by Tymora to look after and protect the part of Celeste's human soul that belonged to no one. Once Celeste died Xera managed to convince Tymora and Oghma to share Celeste's soul by suggesting that Oghma have ownership of the part of Celeste's soul that no one owns. Now Tymora and Oghma both have ownership over her soul.
Oghma gave Celeste the title of Diviner of the Celestial Court. This title has only ever been given to one other being in history, Tyche (the split celestial goddess of fate). He has also sent Celeste on a mission to collect the shards of Tyche's crown and piece them back together and previously sent her to destroy the Forge of Spells.
Currently, Celeste's whole human soul belongs to Guinevere (an archfey, Lady of the Spring, Lady of the Lake). Celeste's soul will go back to being owned by both Tymora and Oghma once she completes her contract with Guinevere.
Celeste's family connections and ties have caused her to have close connections to the gods. Her mother, Stella, is the avatar of Sehanine Moonbow though it could be said that Sehanine is actually her mother. In this case it could also be said that Elistraee (the drow goddess of art and the moon) could be her adoptive sister. Celeste's aunts and uncles are all avatars of the elven gods including her aunt Kyarrah, the avatar of Naralis Analor (the elven god of suffering) who also has close connections to Kelemvor (the celestial god of death). Sister Garaele, a good family friend of the Amors, is a powerful cleric of Tymora. Raina has a close connection to the tree in Evermeet and also to Shandrilar (queen of the feywild).
