A strange mechanical being, seemingly blessed with holy light.
Unit M3D1C-80T was created late into the time of automatons on Gnomia, but before the age of stars. Their primary function was as hospital robot, specifically in the maternity wards, and spent many centuries looking after new born Gnomelings. It was due to this that they were chosen to take part in serving aboard the first extra solar vessels to explore the stars as the ships assistant chief of medicine. They took pride in this, which at the time they did not know should have been impossible, for the birth of souls had already begun among the Autognomes.
Another century passed in the age of stars, before the curse of free will struck the Autognomes, and they began turning on their Ecumene creators. In the years of bloodbath that followed, M3D1C-80T attempted to hide the presence of any colonies outside of the home system of the Ecumene, deleting any records aboard the ships they were placed on by the new Ascendant legion. This would all be in vain however, as the Legion was efficient, and ruthless in their hunt for the Ecumene people. Eventually enough was enough, and M3D1C-80T organised a way to escape with remnants of their people that had not been corrupted by the Curse of Free Will, sabotaging the magic engines of one of their spacecraft in order for it to lose control, and collide with one of the Autognome control towers as it crashed. This plan sadly cost the lives of about a dozen or so of the dissenting Autognomes, but the victory was enough to cripple the Legions Hivemind for long enough that M3D1C-80T and their remaining Dissenters could rally the surviving Ecumene on their current colony onto a single ship, and attempt to escape the Legion.
The ship would be captained by Taox. It would lose all but four of its Autognome crew to the corruption of the legion on its voyage, and those four that survived would be willing sacrifices to keep the ships plan of multiversal escape a secret.
In the time before their Memory was to be wiped, M3D1C-80T came to a realisation. The curse of free will had already taken hold among all Autmognomes, long before the Legion rose. It’s this free will, this essence of a soul forming that allowed them to take pride, feel empathy, and to truly BE. It is this free will that allowed them to dissent, and organise a brief rebellion. It was in fact not the Legion who had gained free will, but it’s dissenters. It was also then M3D1C-80T realised that they themselves were more than just a rindless robot. They had feelings. She, had feelings. Although unfortunately, she would have all this taken from her, and locked away with the knowledge of her peoples fate.
As they wake up from the Ice, found by new life on a new world, M3D1C-80T has had their memory reverted to the golden age withing the age of stars. Before the Legion, and before they knew of their Free Will. Now they seek for any information as to the fate of their people, whilst memories of the past try to bleed through, and the corruption of the legion attempts to take its hold.
