Personal history
Raised middle class, Shaushka’s hero is her grandmother, a well known healer who traveled extensively and was the first female author to document female issues such as infertility, menstruation, breast cancer, pregnancy issues, gynecological health and mental health and described procedures and medications to deal with them.
Born in the Near East, in the City of Kussara to Manahunna and Hatiar Pamba, her hometown, Kussara, is near the sea and is known as an ancient city.
Shaushka, like her mother Manahunna and her grandmother before her, Harapsiti, is a healer and mid-wife.
Through the years
8 yo - began training with her mother, cleaning tools, bringing water and bathing patients (candy striper duties). Mother also began teaching her Dwarvish and Elven so that she could communicate with patients from several area communities.
10 yo - began hands-on assisting with surgeries and deliveries under watch of mother, and began learning how to mix healing tinctures and medicines
12 yo - delivered first child on her own and performed first surgery (broken bone setting) under careful watch of mother
13 yo - first tooth extraction independently, first invasive surgery involving bloodletting and cauterization, travelled with mother to Dwarven community afflicted with infection and helped administer medicine and do diagnostics, began acting as an apprentice rather than a student to her mother's practice
15 yo - left home and spent 6 months training with local herbalist to mix apothecary cures and identify healing plants, learned about divine method of curing injuries
16 yo - mother declared her basic medical training complete, sent her off on a caravan to practice medicine on her own and establish her own practice. Began studying under priest of Ilmater at Church of Divine Rose (close to game start point) and began studying prayers and divine methods of curing injuries and strengthening peoples constitution to make them less susceptible to ailments.
17 yo - after 18 months of intense study, her priest master sent her out to practice what she has learned and return to complete her training at a later point when she has learned to commune with Ilmater and healed at least a dozen sick on the edge of death to fill health.
