"Shadow" or "Nashi" is a young Dracanis druid who got tangled up in the exotic animal smuggling ring that the adventuring party was trying to break up, in no small part because they didn't understand the world they'd stumbled into and in no small part because they were trying to protect the animals in their charge despite everything else going on. For all intents and purposes, Nashi was as much a hostage as the mythical creatures he was caring for.
 
When the adventuring party stumbled onto the smuggling operation and broke it up, Nashi was an invaluable asset because they knew how to care for the exotic creatures the party now found them the custodians of. In the end, Nashi agreed to travel with the party as they set off to return some of the more dangerous and sentient creatures to their proper homes and guardians. Along the way, they've also become the - owner? guardian? companion? - of a giant komodo dragon, who is also traveling with them.
 
Nashi is a skilled animal handler with wildlife veterinarian skills.
