Jayne was born in a town called Eagle's Watch in Brevoy. She helped her elderly neighbor tend to her sheep, which allowed her to explore Mount Veshka at length. When members of the Pathfinder society passed into the region , Jayne volunteered to guide the newly arriving Society Members. Eventually, impressed by Harding's skill, Faction Leader Calisro Benarry recruited Harding to join as a member of the society..
