Half-elf swordsman and swashbuckler. Member of the Troublemakers. Father of Levante
Gregale's deeds are the fodder of bards across Korvaire, spawning countless songs, numerous tales, an award-winning play, and a book deal of an adaptation of the play. Not sure how well the book will work without any music. That is some bards concern.
At the Tower Of The Twelve Gregale gave his son his marked name, the name a member of
House Lyrander receives when they complete Test of Siberys. Levante, a name Gregale choose
when he learned his beloved Brenna was with child. Once freed of the dread overlord Levistus,
Gregale took Levante and his beloved Brenna d’Medani to Stormhold to help rebuild House
Lyrander. Gregale lost most of his immediate family when Stormhold fell to Levistus. Sirocco
his father, Gale his sister were gone. Only his older brother Mistral remained. Mistral became
key to rebuilding House Lyrander. Gregale becoming his herald, traveling to and fro in service to
his house and to adventure of course.
Many of the tales about Gregale are about the great love affair between Gregale and Brenna.
Other of Gregale travels, and his other conquests. Aided by his intelligent magic sword Silvie
and his sprite pirate familiar Tinkie. Brenna love for Gregale was so great she could track him
down across the open skies and trackless seas. This was great sport for the two lovers. Gregale
was given the airship “Gato” an already famous craft. Gregale’s patron fitted it with sails made
of dreams and a rudder made from a sea dragon dorsal fin. It could disguise itself as a cloud, a
bird, a fish. The rudder let it sail on, under and above any body of water. Brenna chased him
down on the “Wolfs Jaw” a war galleon from the Last War. It seems most of the other houses
felt it would be “an adventure” for Gregale to have a worthy adversary. The one who could
always find her love and take him back to Stormhold, where he was dearly needed. What
would House Lysander and his brother Mistral do without the legendary herald Gregale? Some
say Gregale’s own patron helped Brenna track down Gregale.
Whispers of whom Gregale patron is haunts inn’s common room. Sora Kell, Acererak, a Genie ,
a Great Wrym, the kraken imprisoned under Stormhold? His prowess in all matters is
impressive, exceeding abilities normally seen by the Mark of Storm. His Tinkie while adorable
in tiny female pirate outfit, was a bit mad. A gift from his patron. A cheerful cherub with a
cunning and cruel streak. Gregale whispers out of earshot, that is how his patron tracks him.
He speaks little of his patron. Except, he definitely did not sleep with his patron. Unless they
shaped changed …….
As for Levante, his father taught him how to sail, how to fish and how to woo. His mother how
to hunt, how to track, and how to be respectful to women. The experience of housing the
overlord was hard on him, some say his parents did not help. He went on to become a
fearsome pirate, terrorizing Khorvaire from a hiding place they neither his father nor mother
could ever find.
