Elias Blackwood, born in 1889 and cursed forever to live as an amalgamation of what he once was.
To me, Elias is an enigma. Despite him supposedly being 600 years old, there was barely anything I could find on him. The only source of information was his journal which he always kept by his side except when sleeping so I managed to take a peek at some pages. Unfortunately, due to my clumsiness he now sleeps with it. The following is a summary of his early life:
Elias Blackwood was born on June 21st, 1889, in a small village surrounded by dense forests. He was the second child of a family of woodworkers and lumberjacks who struggled to make ends meet. Despite their poverty, Elias was a bright and inquisitive child who spent most of his free time reading books in the local church and learning about the world.
Elias' parents were devoutly religious, and they saw their son's intelligence as a sign that he was destined to become a priest. They encouraged him to study the scriptures and attend church regularly, hoping that he would one day join the clergy.
Elias was eager to please his parents and became deeply involved in his studies. He spent long hours poring over religious texts and memorizing prayers and hymns. Despite his enthusiasm, however, he couldn't help but feel a sense of restlessness.
He finally became a priest at the age of 24. To record his time at the church, he bought a journal. The following texts entries are all what I could write from his journal.
10th October 1913
Today was my first day as a priest in the church, and it was a truly life-changing experience. I've always felt a calling to serve Pelor, and now that I'm here, I know that I'm exactly where I'm meant to be. The church is a beautiful place, and the people here are kind and welcoming. I feel like I'm part of a family, and it's a wonderful feeling. I spent most of the day getting to know the other priests and learning about my duties. I was also given a tour of the church, and I couldn't help but feel awed by the beauty of the stained-glass windows and the peaceful atmosphere. As I walked around, I felt a sense of purpose that I've never felt before.
As I knelt down to pray in the chapel, I felt a deep connection to Pelor. I thanked Him for leading me to this place and for giving me the opportunity to serve Him. I prayed that He would guide me in my work as a priest and help me be a positive influence on those around me. Today was just the beginning of my journey as a priest, but I know that it's going to be a fulfilling and rewarding one. I'm excited to see where this path takes me and to continue to serve Pelor with all my heart.

The clerics praised me today for my knowledge in medical studies. I couldn’t have been happier. They suggested I could specialise in medical practises and healing.
17th March 1918
I can't shake the feeling that the high priests of the church are out to get me. Ever since I stumbled upon their deceitful practices, I've been living in constant fear. I always knew there were some questionable things happening within the church, but I never imagined it would be this severe. The fact that they're selling fake indulgences and even pig's blood labeled as holy blood is a sin beyond measure. As a young priest, I feel it's my duty to speak up and expose these practices, but at the same time, I fear for my life. What if the high priests come after me for knowing too much? What if I become their next victim? It's a terrifying thought, but I can't stay silent any longer. I must find a way to expose the truth while also protecting myself from harm. My faith in Pelor will guide me through this dark time, and I pray that justice will prevail.
12th October 1919 (note that this is not a journal entry)
After an anxious year had passed with the high priests finding out Elias knew their secret, they decided they could no longer bear the fear of it getting out to the public. They planned to kill Elias late in the night but didn't realize that he would be waiting for this day too. He tried to wrestle his way to freedom when suddenly, everything fell silent. The other priest cast a silence spell in order to shoot Elias, but because they were fighting, he couldn't get a clear shot. But moments later, Elias felt excruciating pain. He got shot in the leg and figured the only way out of this was the window. He jumped out the window, bleeding out but managing to run for his life. Unfortunately, the high priests were quick to catch up to him. In the end, Elias was overpowered and stabbed in the heart. His lifeless body fell into the nearby river, lost forever to the currents.

I awoke by the river today, in a forest. I don't know where I am, but I'll try heading down the river in hopes of finding a village or a city. It's hard to walk…
After hours of walking, I got out of the forest and found a small village near a lake. When I got closer to it, I tried speaking to a woman, but when she turned around to answer, she ran away in horror as if she had seen a monster. Moments later, a group of men tried to attack me with torches and pitchforks, but I managed to run away. I have no idea what has gotten into those people. I spent the night in a small cave in the forest I was in. For some reason, a crow was following me…

It hurts…
This was the last eligible entry I wrote. I did try to rewrite 2 more, but they were written in some strange language or runes and covered in some strange ink like substance. I don't know...
On the other hand, I also found a snippet of a newspaper in the journal dating about 300 years ago. It contained the following "song":
In the woods there roams a beast,
A black monster, its size increased,
Children beware, don't come too near,
Lest the creature cause you fear.
It prowls the forest, silent and sly,
With glowing eyes that seem to spy,
It snarls and growls, its teeth so sharp,
A creature fierce, with a hunger so dark.
So stay away, and don't be bold,
The black monster is not to be told,
Don't wander off, stay on the path,
And you'll be safe from the monster's wrath.
Remember this, and heed the call,
The black monster is not your friend at all,
Stay safe and sound, and far away,
And you'll live to see another day.
