In 1489 DR, Carlon began investigating a group of dragon cult smugglers that were transporting stolen goods north along the Trade Way towards Waterdeep. When the cultists began to suspect his affiliation, Carlon attempted to share what he learned with another agent at the inn. Unfortunately the Dragon Cult caugh on and buryed him on the Trade Way.
Carlon was stumbled upon by the next trade group which happened to have the Rock Bottoms with thier group. Artair hurled a rock at the head and blew out his eye. The rock bottoms recovered Carlon from the ground and nursed him back to health. Though his eye was gone he had no recollection of what had happened.
 
Carlon worked with the Rock Bottoms the rest of the way to Waterdeep. Then reconnected with the Rock Bottoms to fight the Vampire in Skyreach Castle.
 
Carlon procured The Golden Tankard in Parnast after the Cult of the Dragon vacated the town. He remained there as a Harper point of contact for the Rock Bottoms who operated out of Castle Spaceship.

Failures & Embarrassments

Carlon was charged with following a part of the hoard North with the Cult of the Dragon. Amoffel passed information to another Harper at a roadside inn, and members of the caravan witnessed the meeting. The cultists manufactured a story that he was passing information to bandits. The merchants were unwilling to kill him outright, but they were willing to leave him buried in the road and “let providence decide the man’s fate.”
 
Waking up, he lost his left eye. This now servers as reminder of this failure.
