Frankensteinian anarchist driven by a desire for revenge and reform in a home he once forsook. He needs to get back, and will carve a path back if need be.
Wert is trying to find his way back to Lamorida, but has so far been unsuccessful. His leads have come up dry, and wandering through the mists cost him fellow travelers, friends, and resources.
He is unsure how much father he needs to travel, but it's certainly a long long way. He is trying to gather a band of fellow outcasts and build a home and community with them, while he prepares to conquer the cities of Lamordia. He thinks he has time.

Appearance
Physical Description
Reborn Nature
Wert's reborn nature is kept secret. He tells people who see him uncovered that he was trapped in the collapse of a burning mine.
Identifying Characteristics
His body is knit together in scar tissue, and skin is a patchwork of broad, pale shades. Hair is disparate, and not very well combed.
Ambidextrous, but it seems to switch back and forth without external stimulus. Very confusing when it changes without him last noticing, though it causes a sort of itch, or painless ache in his head when it happens.
Physical quirks
Occasional tremors, twitches and stutters, and sometimes seizures when he has memory flashbacks. Most, except the seizures, can be solved with a little light pounding to get the spasming nerves back in order
Specialized Equipment
The Gun
It is a rare technology outside of Lamordia, and finding more ammunition is almost impossible. Wert does not have the ability to make more. It is saved as a hold out, last resort weapon, as much for shock and surprise as for defense.
The Reliquary
A rough but sturdy rectangular box of heat-discolored iron plate, decorated with simple geometric engravings and chisel-stamped hashed edges. Standing out on three of the four sides are large, worn brass studs.
The reliquary is worn around Wert's neck on a chain, and itself is not a secret.
Within this reliquary, held shut with a foreign lock and thick iron rod, is a small section of the upper jaw and teeth of my only friend in the laboratory, the demented foreigner who named me "Billy". It is one of the few things he managed to take from the wreckage of the laboratory after he snuck back to reassure himself that the deed was over, snatched in a moment of panic as a night patrol came near.

Personal history
The Before Times
From flashes he remembers, he knows he had a big family. The names and faces are just out of reach, and shift with time and memory.
Laboratory
His first memories were waking up on an operating table, cold and aching and shivering, as arcs of electricity died down.
The closest thing he had to parents were the scientists at the laboratory who made him. Test subjects were seen as the closet thing to family. He was taught a lot, though not for his own benefit, especially around medicine and anatomy. The experience was
The Fire
The day of the fire, Wert barred the doors, lit the building on fire, and escaped through the sewers.
The death of the test subjects in the fire could be seen as his first crime; hopefully his spirits find peace in the flames.
He does not know who is still alive after the fire. He snuck back after the fire burned out, to see that it was over, and see what might be salvaged. He found the remains of the demented foreigner who nick named Wert "Billy"; he had not died quickly, the way Wert had hoped for. Instead, he found the brass buttons of his carbonized, stinking wood coat, and kept those items as a reminder. The wound of this man's death is still raw, that he was collateral damage, and that his death was slow and painful.
Wandering
He considers the most important event in his life the moment he realized he could wander forever and still not find anywhere from the Before Times. He took the feelings of anger, hatred, loss and channeled it into a desire to create a home for himself in the land he made. He would conquer those who enslaved him, and make the world a better place.
The time during his wandering, he learned a more liberal arts education from books, and more practical education from wanderers, hermits and hunters
Morality & Philosophy
Wert pays some respect to Ezra, the Goddess of the Mist, and the ways she is worshiped across the realms fascinates him.
Wert does believe in an afterlife, and that people are mostly good, but rightly fear the unfamiliar. People will fundamentally seek to cooperate and help each other
Personality
Motivation
Wert wants to make a better world in the memory of those he has harmed, in the name of cutting down his oppressors.
He fears being imprisoned, enslaved, and experimented on again.
Hygiene
Kept simply but consistently clean, if not pretty. He tries to keep the bizare array of hair types somewhat managed with an engraved long-tooth whalebone comb brought from Lamordia, and a fine-tooth horned comb.
He uses whatever is at hand to keep clean, whether it is water, water with ashes, or soap. Hygiene importance was passively learned in the laboratory for uses of avoiding infection, but laboratory equipment is not always available
