Due to his determination to solidify his tribe's legend, Ront has a habit of giving himself titles for any noteworthy (or not so noteworthy) events he participates in, no matter how famous or infamous it makes him. He records these titles and his (and his party's) accomplishments in the book he's writing about the history of his tribe.

Ront has no desire to find his birth parents and considers himself born from the wilds. He misses his tribe and his only home but is not consumed by a need to avenge them. Chapter 4: Massacre & Burial of the Ravening Tribe

I returned to the tribe after one of my travels to find that almost the entire tribe was dead. Some of their bodies were gaunt and many looking like they had been butchered. After a few minutes examining the bodies, I realized some of the tribe had been eating the others. I explored the rest of the camp and found a few people still alive. They were all just sitting there eating their brothers and sisters. I tried talking to them, slapping them, pouring water over them, and even punching them. But no matter what I did I couldn't get them to wake up. They just sat there eating and staring, like they were looking into the camp fire at the end of a long day. I couldn't think of anything else to do and I don't think they would have lived very long anyway. I killed them.

I tried to find signs of anyone I cared about or anyone important to the tribe. Khork, Anva, and Alrik are all definitely dead. I could not find enough… parts… to say for sure if Freygerd, Snaglak, Nulara, or the Chief were dead or alive. I don't think they are. I think I'm the only one left. The next few days and weeks are foggy and hard to remember.

I remember spending several days collecting as many bodies and parts as I could. I took them to a nearby hill and gave them as proper a burial as I could. I never really paid attention to what the elders did during burials. I wish I had now because I don't think I did it correctly. All I could do was line them all up and lay a marked stone at each of their heads and try to say the right words.

After I laid all of the bodies I could find to rest I went back to the village. I searched for a few things that would be useful and tried again to figure out what happened. I still didn't know, I just know it wasn't an animal. I don't remember much else about that final evening and night. I don't think I bathed, I think I just slept and ate. I remember getting the rest of my belongings and then leaving. I remember noticing I was leaving a trail of Ravening Tribe blood behind me but I didn't care. I don't think I'll go back. I have no reason to go back there. I don't know where I went or what I did for months after.

This was later, after an exciting evening in Molotok but I decided to name that burial hill. I named it Jǫtun-Móðr Gnæfa or Jǫtun-Móðr for short. It's Dwarvish and it means Giant's Rage Rise. I'm not very good with words so I'm very proud of that name. I want to go back to the burial ground and pay proper tribute to my brothers and sisters. I will make sure the giant's rage rises again. I will make sure it stands tall and makes it mark in history. I will make sure the Ravening Tribe becomes a story of legend.
