Personal history
Drake Payne was born and raised in a small township not far from the City of Corinthia, the town named Crestwood was just a small farming town, about two days ride from Corinthia, and along the river. While nearly every Occupant of the city was a devout church goer, they didn't follow the custom of burning their dead, having a long tradition of burying their dead instead. Drake himself lived his whole live there, becoming a member of the town guard, of which there were only a handful of members, mostly used to stop banditry, and try and prevent any raids from the woods by any creatures. Eventually he got married and had a small child, his Wife Elayne, and son Henry, his Wife a simple seamstress, selling her wares and raising their child, Drake even rose up to prominence in the Guard becoming the Captain. He genuinely lived a fairly average life, tasting combat every now and again, killing Bandits, executing rogues, stopping Goblin attacks, and burning their homes. One day however his reality all came crashing down, awoken from his slumber by a scream he turned his attention too the window, his Wife clutching their babe close to her chest, and a mangled arm reaching through the window, Drake acted fast grabbing a carving knife from their only table, and impaling the hand against the wall, he quickly grabbed Elayne moving her away from the window. Drake slipped his boots on and grabbed his Blade, slipping his cloak on soon after he'd peer out the window, seeing the horror streaming through the town, Undead, having risen from the nearby Cemetery murdering the populace. Drake would end up barging through the streets, attempting to wake the populace, and make his way to the town center, protecting his wife, and their child. The Human made it too the town center, seeing a few people like the Blacksmith, and a Merchant holding their own he gathered them up, moving towards the Tavern, one of the first and oldest buildings in the township, it was made of stronger wood, and had barricades on the doors. Eventually a small population managed to fill up the Tavern, a small argument breaking out between some members of the Town blaming each other for this, the undead managing to get through the door when someone managed to open the door in rage, he lost his wife and child in the process, him one of the other guards and the blacksmith managing to stem the tide long enough for them to all get out the Upstairs window. After slipping towards the Guardhouse the few survivors of which there were three in total, locked themselves in the cell...there they sat for a few days, starving, getting hungry, the undead barging against the cells, until the Templars of Dusk arrived, exterminating the last of the Undead, they located seven survivors in total, and there they noted Drakes skills in rallying what people he could and surviving the undead onslaught, and offered him a position as a Templar....Drake wanting to get as far from Crestwood as he could accepted.
