Torralyn is a three-hundred year old gnomish arcanist and warrior who was instrumental in the defense of Sharn versus the Empire, when he operated under the nome-de-guerre "Herr Bomba."  It is rumored that between bombs and building collapses, his effort claim the lives of nearly half a million Imperial Soldiers in the collapse of the North Warrens in the final year of the war.  (Many suspect that this defeat led to the Emperor's decision to trigger the Mourning to end the war entirely.)
 
Torralyn is an elder of House Sivis, the banned gnomish Dragonmarked house of spies, clerks, and bureacrats.  He denies any connection with the resistance activities during the war and heads the Sivis-dominated Notaries Guild where his agents form the basis for all contract enforcement and financial markets in Sharn and beyond.
