Lightning Hurts too
Fought some giant ugly snake things today. Shifted in front of everyone. Went okay I guess. They seemed pretty unphased by it, but considering the giant ugly snake things there were bigger concerns. Literally.
Oh cultists unlocked? the snakes. No idea why they were there. Some sort of ancient ruin for the ‘Solatrice Guardians’. Rina and Vex are pretty excited about it. Want to check it out in the Royal Archives. Another way in maybe.
[Chaotic lines and squiggles line the margins followed by a poor sketch of a dragon wearing a crown with thirteen stars on its wings]
Crypt with important dead people. Lycans? Each were entombed with immaculate weapons, had Ioun’s symbol on them. Same one held high in Shaltoga’s hut. Maybe they’re connected to the stories she told me? It’s been so long I can hardly remember.
[Sketches of the symbols and ancient draconic engravings on the next page, in addition to rough sketches of the weapons themselves]
Took the weapons. Keeping what I’ll use, going to try and establish a connection to my network over here and send them to the pack. Seems like they belong with them. Weirdest part was another important dead person.
[A quick and scratchy sketch of an amulet]
Was wearing that and silver armor. Why silver? Why buried with lycans? I guess if you fight with a bunch of werewolves, wearing a suit of silver is pretty ingenious really. Contingency plan. It sure stunk. Singed my nose hairs. If it’ll help though… But then the thought of decking people I just met out in silver sounds like an absolutely terrible idea in the realm of self preservation…
[Heavy ink blots stain this portion]
Should look into getting Vex something like it. Armor reminds me of her anyways. Had blue gemstones in it. Pretty.
We lost one today. Scout. The fucking snake swallowed them whole. I couldn’t get them out in time, it looked like the stomach acid did them in. What a fucking waste. Guess I couldn’t help them after all.
Phi nearly went down too. I made a split second decision and blocked the blow for her. I would have lost it if not for Vex. The ranger was right under me too. I don’t think she knows how close I came to… It’s fine. It didn’t happen. Scared the crap out of Vex but she’s okay now. I think back on it and I still don’t think I’d do anything differently. Sometimes my instincts lead to destruction, and sometimes they keep me and my pack alive. To call it a balancing act is an understatement. One day this tight rope will break.
Oh yeah, the dead lycans? had crowns too. I took one. Gasa wants it. Gotta watch those purple sticky fingers.

Contacts & Relations
Clan of Ioun's Light: Zenrathi was born to this tribe and still feels very much apart of it even though she was sold during a culling. She has conflicting feelings towards the pack and is unsure both of her place in it and what she wants from it. Regardless, she holds an immense amount of love and loyalty towards them and many of its members that she considers family.
The Safeguard Syndicate: Zenrathi worked with them for several years; she loved the close knit group, believed in their charges, and learned how to finesse her natural predatory stealth with them. She excelled at group assassinations and working with her fellow rogues as a team.
Tatharel Orthorien: An elvish assassin from the Syndicate and Zenrathi’s past lover. The pair had been inseparable, always training and working together. The relationship was fun at its best and abusive at its worst. Tatharel knew she had Zenrathi's heart and used that to her advantage. A werewolf can't be kept on a leash, however, and it may lead to the elf's ultimate demise. Zen believes Tatharel betrayed her and left the rogue behind to be captured during a botched mission. This still weighs heavy on Zenrathi's mind and impacts every romantic encounter she's had since then.
Family Ties
Zaunar: Zenrathi's brother in spirit and perhaps even her biological sibling too. The trouble-making bard is one of her favorite people on this earth and is her dynamic duo. Zenrathi refuses to forgive herself for abandoning him in Rielera and is determined to find a way to right that wrong.
Shaltoga: The cruel, but fair shaman is more of a mother figure to Zenrathi than any of the den parents that raised her. Zenrathi greatly respects the half-orc who has been the greatest influence on her world view. They both know that Zen desperately wishes she could have walked Shaltoga's path to become a shaman instead of a barbarian and struggles with her anger over that failure even after all of this time.
Gazros: Zenrathi holds a vast amount of love in her heart for her chieftain and pack leader. She has always been impressed with his seemingly pleasant demeanor, a quiet and well tempered lid on the bestial danger within. Zen still feels the pull to please him even amidst the buried anger over being exiled.
Religious Views
Like most from her clan, Zenrathi is a highly spiritual individual. She believes all things have a spirit given from Iouna and pays little heed to the machinations of the other gods.
Social Aptitude
While quite flirtatious, Zenrathi is not as charming as she thinks she is. She has a quiet confidence about her and a steady swagger to her movements.
Speech
Her draconic is quite fluent and guttural with clear similarities to Orcish. Her tone is typically low and rough, though when she's speaking Elvish she takes on a higher pitch. Zen's elvish would still be brutish by elven standards, but the language takes on a whole new sound in her mouth - melodic, deep and intense.
In her werewolf form, Zen's voice gets even lower and more bestial. Her inflections are filled with guttural snarls and growls; it's difficult to talk with a snout.
