Appearance
Physical Description
At a height of ~6', Velexander combines a liquid fluidity and economy of motion which few others exhibit; his preternatural agility and exotic aloofness combine to give him a subtle predatory look. He is lithe and muscular, weighing just under 200 lbs and built like an athlete. His straight black hair falls well below shoulder length and is typically kept in a topknot. His red eyes burn like fire, and show an age in stark contrast to his smooth youthful features.
When dressed for adventure, his open-clothing is replaced by finely worked and articulated splint mail. The armor covers him head-to-toe; its asymmetrical burnished splints affixed to flexible leathers fit him like a second skin - in which he is almost-completely unhindered.
Underneath is a thin layer of blackened padded silk, with blackened chain protecting where the slender metal splints do not. The breech-cloth tucked into his belt is embroidered with crimson, and a pair of long slender swords hang at his hips...

Personal history
Captured as a juvenile [juvenile dragons: 26-50] by strange whispering cultists who sought to harness the inherent magic of wyrms, X was captured from his lair and imprisoned in the depths of the haunted county of Virlych for roughly a decade.
Drained of his inherent magic and unable to free himself, he was ultimately rescued and liberated from his capture by a strange group calling themselves the Eldritch Order of the Palatine Eye. There was a quick but quiet debate amongst them, and rather than destroy the emaciated and powerless red dragon, he was adopted by an Ustalavian arcanist by the name of Trevor Bruttenholm.
Despite his nature, Velexander was raised by Bruttenholm and the Order to be a force for good and an agent for the Order. While occasionally problematic, his natural rebellious fire was channeled into constructive means furthering the Orders interests, with all but the worst of his kleptic and larcenous tendencies generally overlooked.
He was given brief formal training in weapons, warfare, the occult, and the arcane before dropping out of the academic side of the program. His martial training, however, continued at pace. And while he aged quickly, his innate draconic magic manifested itself erratically.
In 4680 he officially joined as a full-time field agent. He became adept in supernatural and paranormal bodies of knowledge involving matters of the undead and the arcane while simultaneously able to work though the shadowy underworld to achieve his ends.
The War Without Rivals erupted in in 4687, and he was dispatched once more to serve the Order's interests. Unlike most in the war, serving in battalions of conscripted farmers, X was placed among a small squad of mercenaries and was tasked with burning through the entrenched Barstoi defenders and ensuring that any exotic occult practices were stopped - a task particularly well-suited to his skillset.
This was where Velexander met a young swordsman by the name of Dragan Lorno of Soivoda. Though the two were quite different, fighting as squadmates brought the two together - to as much degree as a highborn reclusive loner and a shapeshifted rakish dragon can be. But shared bloodletting and strife brought the warriors together nonetheless.
The war changed Velexander, and he questioned the Order's involvement in it. While he has not officially forsaken the Esoteric Order of the Palantine Eye, he has absconded from field work and all manner of official duties for decades. He is sure they yet keep tabs on him, but he has decided that he needs to find his own place in the world before returning.
