Thistle is a young clerk at Barthen's Provisions, working mostly to load and unload wagons full of trade goods. When the owner was not in the trading post, Thistle would attend the needs of the customers.

Elmar Barthen, the owner of Barthen's Provision became Thistle's adoptive father who gave her a home along with Ander, another orphan of Phandalin.
