Personal history

He fought in the Eighth Savannah War. In the Battle of Vark, he was the only member of his company to survive. While recovering from injuries sustained during the battle a priest gave him a magical talisman with this ☿ symbol. When he recovered enough to ask about him, nobody knew who he was or even what god he served. He has not been able to figure out what magic the talisman has but he keep it.

Education

While a boy in his hometown a recruit for the emperor's army came through and recognized his magical aptitude.  He attendance at the Askia School of Magic in Askia was sponsored so that he might join the emperor's army.
