Personal history
Born into slavery at the hands of Draconblood in Draconia, Beatriz and her kind have known hardship and oppression. At the age of three Beatriz's family and others tried to make a escape attempt from their captors and Draconia. Only Beatriz's mother, Mariana, and a few others managed to escape sadly leaving behind Beatriz, her twin sister Estla and their father behind, tearfully vowing to return with help.
Help sadly never came. Later when Beatriz was eleven the attack of the Chroma Conclave and the fall of Draconia occurred. In the aftermath of the fall, Beatriz and Estla survived but their father didn't. After the death of Vorugal and the conclave's defeat, the twins went from Xarzith Kitril to Charis with other Ravenites to start a new.
At Charis the group of Ravenites were welcomed by the Halfling Druids and for a short while Beatriz and Estla had a home. Beatriz yurned to find out what became of her mother and to see the world, Estla on the other hand was more than content in spending her life in Charis, a place where they were accepted and equal to others. The disagreement didn't result in anything until later with the arrival of the Revelry to the village.
The pirates did not seek to pillage but shelter and camp from the cursed Lotusden woods. Their being there was of their captain, a pallid elf by the name of Isla. Isla had gone to the woods for research in the rumored matters of the arcane art of hemocraft, not explicitly saying so. The appearance of the pirates spurred Beatriz to observe them and later, ask them to take her with them despite knowing the consequences of a life of piracy. Laughed at at first by the crew for the request until Isla became interested and agreed, wanting a protege and a cabin girl. Beatriz tried to convince Estla to come with her but Estla didn't want to leave her new peaceful life. Beatriz having said her goodbyes to Estla, left with Isla and would be under her tutelage and would grow a quick friendship with the first mate, Abrafo.
Her new home on Isla's ship and the pirate isle of Darktow took on getting use to and Beatriz quickly learned the ropes and laws of the pirates. Beatriz learned how to tend to the crew and ship, along with whatever information she picked up from books and her mentor, later becoming fit and able to join in on ship boarding, combat and raids. As Beatriz grew older into an adult, Isla started to teach her about what for of magic she was investigating. That being hemocraft, the art of using ones own blood to preform magic and combating things that go bump in the night and shadows. Later on during the night, Isla vanished from Darktow. Concerned about her mentor, Beatriz went to Abrafo. With a vow to return with their captain and friend and a good luck charm given Beatriz set out inland. Now into the lands of Wildmount, Beatriz searches to find Isla, to learn more about hemocraft and to fight against the forces of the night and shadow.

Mental Trauma
Having witnessed and survived the fall of Draconia, Beatriz had developed a deep fear of falling debris and collapsing structures. Also having been a slave for most of her childhood, Beatriz had developed a deep seeded hatred of Draconblood Dragonborn.
Morality & Philosophy
Beatriz believes in freedom and choice a great deal given her previous enslavement. She does have a moral core that people are allowed to do what they want, though to obvious extents. She condones senseless murder, slavery, and rape, basically actions of pure evil. She is willing to rob and kill, but it needs to have purpose and some form of sense. Such as her life as a pirate, it serves a purpose to benefit herself, the crew, her mentor and the Plank King.
She is willing to murder a Draconblood Dragonborn out of vengeance. But only if they were in Draconia and not showed any remorse or regret. If they do regret, she will scar them with a symbol of their guilt. If it's just a random Draconblood she just regards them in a passive aggressive tone.
