Current Open Lord of Waterdeep as well as Archwizard & widow to the first Blackstaff (Kelben), Laeral is a woman of fables and history. Through her long life she's been assistant to many major events in history, most have become muddled in time to all but her long lived peers. Most easily noted however are her presence at the chaining of the crippled god during the spell plague, rescue of Vajra, and supposed maker of the sentient weapon AzureEdge. Her long life is often attributed to her either being a chosen champion or daughter to the now deceased goddess of Magic Mystra.
