Pip is a young man, very young. More of a boy really. He came to the Trussed Wolf Inn shortly after Gothar and Aramath began work on renovations. Unkempt and undernourished he was struggling to find his place in the world. His family while poor was happy and his parents struggled to make the farm profitable. His older brother and sister wanted to keep back on the farm so he took off into The Vast from the outskirts of Procampur to explore the nature he loved so dearly. It was more difficult than he expected and he struggled mightily until he came upon a lone inn located in a ruined village. Building materials and supplies were streaming in and the inn called "The Trussed Wolf" was already struggling to provide meals to all the workers in the village. He offered to help for a room and a meal a day which felt like a fantasy to him. Gothar readily agreed and the Inn had its first wait staff!
Working diligently he kept at his duties collecting his meager tips and talking to the few travellers that stopped by the inn during those very early days. One of the passers through was an aged ranger that was full of stories and knowledge. While Pip quickly determined that much of what he said were indeed just stories. He was however..... hooked! He set about learning everything he could. Talking to all the travellers provided him a plethora of information which he soaked up like a sponge. Master Gothar who was funding the rebuilding efforts noticed Pip's interest in the forests and nature surrounding the village as well as his propensity to explore the ruins. He began to work with the boy daily to help him learn to wield a weapon and protect himself when he was exploring by himself but urged him to always stick with a friend for safety. Pip often ignored this advice letting his adventureous side run his youthful mind.
Aramath, Gothars half orc companion in charge of security for the newly founded village of Starfall kept close tabs on Pip as he explored the ruins and worried for his safety. She provided him a set of green dragon scale mail to keep him from coming back wounded nearly every trip out. This helped immensely and as he grew in skill she also provided him a long bow. HIs explorations proved fruitful and he began to outfit himself rather well.
While Gothar and Aramath were both quite knowledgable neither of them could keep up with Pip and his insatiable need to know about every little plant and animal he happened across. Thankfully this is where Miss Felonia the barkeep was able to help him! Not only did she keep the bar runing but she also managed the rather large gardens out back as well as helped keep the kitchens runnign until they found a good chef. She lent pip a journal she had been keeping for years since her youth that had drawings and descriptions of hundreds of plants and animals she had come across in her life. However she too was new to the Vast having arrived with Gothar so the journal was a bit incomplete for the area. To help in his studies she provided him three additional journals and taught him basic reading and writing. He then copied the journals to each other so there were multiple copies. He loved all the information he learned and his drawing skills increased immensely and when he could find the items in the journal locally he would use those to improve upon any old drawings in the journal. Whenever he found something new he would bring it back and study it diligently and discuss with Felonia to determine its properties. She helped him setup a room in the lower levels of the inn for studying the various plant and animal life he brought back. Once he even brought a giant spider egg that he hatched and documented its growth cycles.
He became good friends with Ogg who became his forst exploration companion and they had some interesting adventures together! Ogg however began hanging out with the adults more and the pair drifted apart a bit. Pip continued to focus on exploring the immediate area and honing his skills in the ruins and wilds focused on learning as much as he could about the plants an animals and how he could help those that cared enough to bring him into their lives.
