Appearance
Body Features
Thirteen is a slight, gangly girl with expressive eyes and short-cropped hair. Her apparent age is around 14. Her skin, hair, and eyes are pale white. Her skeleton is fully self-contained, haptically charged, and constructed from Tryptek-9 alloy.
Facial Features
Bright, inquisitive eyes and a goofy grin.
Special abilities
Thirteen’s cells still retain their original regenerative capabilities, but have also gained the capacity to conduct and manipulate thermal energy, controlling its flow and directing it where she chooses. She is also able to amplify and focus this energy, which she can release as bursts of concentrated light, though the range of this ability is somewhat limited.

Personal history
A few years after the Great Shift, The Underhill Institute hit the jackpot. Scouting for shifted individuals, they found a young girl in the Canyons who was capable of rapid regeneration. After removing the girl’s family from the equation, they took her to the deepest level of the institute. A series of invasive and painful experiments resulted in a self-replicating, seemingly immortal cell line. The fate and whereabouts of the girl remain classified to this day.
The cell line, dubbed “Aion” by institute scientists, has been used to conduct various projects, but the most closely guarded of them is Project Eve. The cells have been combined with cutting edge endoskeletal technology to create fully autonomous cyborg individuals. To date, 21 documented individuals, all female, have been created, with various alterations made to the underlying genetic code. Only 17 of them were viable beyond the nascent stage, and all but four underwent multi-system autolysis three to four weeks after endoskeletal grafting. The surviving individuals are designated Two, Eight, Thirteen, and Fifteen.
An Underhill employee assigned to Thirteen’s care pod grew to feel a sense of affection for her and revealed that, due to the unpredictable nature of her abilities, she had been scheduled for termination. The individual helped her to escape the institute, providing her with intimate knowledge of its layout and inner workings (the worker in question has been reported missing by her family - her whereabouts are currently unknown).
