Rizo was a young prodigy amongst the moon clan growing up, excelling in his studies, and perfecting their monk-like traditions.
In addition to this, at the age of fourteen, he realized that he could summon forth what seemed like an astral arm. He had never once heard of anyone in his clan being able to do this before, which excited him, yet also caused him to worry. His clan was one with strict traditions, which both bored and occasionally irritated Rizo.
Knowing this could go one of two ways; either his clan wanting to exploit and champion his ability, or shunning and exiling him from the clan. On that note, he decided to keep it secret from his clan and train this ability in secrecy.
Years had passed, and Rizo's strength had grown. He was only twenty-one, but Rizo felt as if so much of his life had already passed him by. He grew tired of living on the island. With his parents passing in the prior years; his mother from disease, and his father from a stampede during the hunt. This combined with the fact that he was forced to use his powers to hunt and train in secrecy, just frustrated Rizo. So much so, that he punched a tree with his astral arm in frustration, knocking it down. As he calmed down, he realized he was being watched. A small scamp, by the name Bristle, stared at him in amazement of what he had just done. But before anything else could transpire, Rizo quickly knocked her out. This was his sign that it was time to leave. He gently carried her to her family, claiming she had fallen asleep in the woods and he didn't want to leave her there.
After this, he grabbed his family's transportable home and sped towards the clan of water-loving, Tabaxis. After he arrived, he quickly secured passage on the next boat to Renstrom and started his new life.
Rizo spent the next several years just wandering the continent. Exploring all it had to offer, from its beautiful sites and women to the unique foods and liquors. Life overall was good, but it felt empty and without purpose, but in this last year, everything changed.
One day, while heading to the town of Bayshore, in the distance Rizo heard gunfire and explosive thunder. Immediately causing him to start bolting towards the town, but by the time he got there, the battle had seemed over.
Guards were cleaning up the street from all the fresh corpses when he heard another commotion, coming from a bar named 'The Drunken Swordsmen'. An Aarakocra man burst out of the pub covered in blood and injuries. He was on the brink of death and collapsed. Thinking on his feet, Rizo jumped to action and threw the gentleman on his back and made great haste to the nearest hospital. Rizo waited patiently for the man to awaken. As he waited, the man awoke and said,
" Thank you for saving my life, my name is Zeed Ore of the Emerald Enclave."
Zeed continued to explain, both who the Emerald Enclave was, as well as informing Rizo about the deranged ranger, by the name of Tiffa.
Tiffa had assaulted him in the bar after he'd already shot him out of the sky, while on his way to save a bard by the name of Axel Greywing from an assassination attempt.
He looked Rizo deep in the eyes and said "We could use a capable monk like you in the Emerald Enclave" and then offered Rizo a leaf brooch.
Rizo accepted the brooch, filled with feelings of once again having some semblance of purpose. His first mission was to go investigate the oasis that had been experiencing strange earth tremors as of late. Rizo, as fast as he could, headed straight for the oasis.
Once he arrived, he did not sense any earthquakes, but he did come across the strangest thing. A graveyard filled with the corpses of thousands of War Forged. One of the War Forged stood out in the center of this graveyard. It was surrounded by flowers and the only one with a large gravestone in front of it that read:
"Here stands Gorgan the Paladin: Procure of the Warforged and protector of the Eldineser. May his visions of the future never come to fruition."
After reading this, Rizo looked up and saw that the insides of this War Forged was glowing a bright purple. Curious to see what was happening, Rizo popped open the chest. Inside was a crystal made of pure adamantine, with runes that were shining like a beacon that was calling to Rizo. When he grabbed it, there was a shock of pain and then everything faded to black.
With a burst of light, Rizo felt as if his soul was pushed through time itself. He began to see visions:
He saw a dark lich talking to a bronze dragon,
He saw an attempted assassination on the King and Queen of Malgos,
He saw the destruction of Saundersfoot, it burning in narcotic flames, as beasts made in nightmares traversed the lands,
He saw the Death God, Orcus, breaking out from his dominion, and bringing terror over all of Renstrom,
With each passing vision, he noticed that this one group of people was consistently there, specifically a Half-Elven Bard, a Tiefling Bard, and a shapeshifting Druid.
At the end of all of the visions of destruction and death, there was one at the end of a world filled with peace, which was the marriage of the tiefling and the half-elf.
But then, Rizo woke up in a strange house. He sprang to his feet, nearly collapsing from the sudden movement.
An old hag spoke up, " Oh! You're finally awake, deary. Calm down, calm down! You're safe here. It seems you've briefly activated that Gorgan. I've been trying to wake that bucket of bolts for decades now."
Rizo interrupted, "I need to get to Saundersfoot as quickly as possible!"
The hag nodded "Alright, alright! I'm sure whatever it is, it's important."
The mysterious hag used a Scroll of Teleport, thus putting Rizo outside the gates of Saundersfoot.
For a brief moment, it was surrounded in all the darkness that he had envisioned. Rizo fought off several of the undead. One of his strikes, sending out bolts of electricity and another sending a bolt of acid. Rizo was confused but was fighting for his life. When all of a sudden, a magical wave of energy overtook all of Saundersfoot, and what was a town of destruction and necrotic energy, was now the vibrant city of Saundersfoot which he had visited a few years prior. But that wasn't the only shock he would experience, as the magic in his hands swelled and more visions rush into his head:
An old man with several canaries (No per DM)
A dark fey with the sound of earthquakes in the background
Finally, he saw the half-elf he had seen in his visions many times before, was face to face with Orcus. Orcus, The God of Death, seemed to try and make a deal with the half-elf. But the half-elf declined and charged at him, with hand glowing and as he touched the god, everything turned to white.
Rizo, once again returning to reality after his trance, several citizens were surrounding him, checking on his well-being. He assured them that was fine and continued walking into, the now restored, Saundersfoot. Rizo decided to take a moment of respite, in the bar owned by the amazing bard known as, Prince. The sign that once read 'Purple Rain', had been renamed 'The Frosted Shores Pub'. While partaking in some Everdine Ale, and trying to collect his thoughts, Rizo overheard some civilians discussing rumors of earthquakes in Mt. Roma getting worse. Not knowing what else to do, Rizo started making his way to Mt. Roma hoping to find someone from the Emerald Enclave who could clear things up for him.
