"Accompanied by his automaton bodyguard Wedge, Biggs Ironstamp is a traveling inventor on a mission to use his knowledge for peace as atonement for his family's misdeeds. As a member of the Ironstamp family, Biggs was never more than 5 feet away from a machine or tinker's tools growing up, going on to even produce his first clock at the age of 9. Although he loved the potential innovations his family could offer, he was always at odds with their ethics in producing results and ""proving"" others. One early notable case being when his father set a nearby Elven settlement ablaze from an experiment involving a pyrotechnic device meant to clear out cave critters. Nevertheless, despite the questionable methods his family members used, they were well respected within the Gnomish communities of Mt. Gomorrah.
As the decades passed, the ever growing needs of the Ironstamp family's services only grew further, eventually becoming the de facto ruling entity over the Gnomes of Mt. Gomorrah. During this time, Biggs would be largely helping his family members in constructing the dozens of automatons needed to help the ever growing needs of their people living in the mountains. His father, now growing old, was becoming obsessed with the idea of immortality and his desperation to preserve his own life eventually grew into paranoia. By the time Biggs would approach adulthood, his father would enact the unthinkable and repossess control of his family's automatons, beginning what would be later called the ""Gomorrah Incident"". Hundreds of automatons would begin slaughtering the residents of the mountain, including his own family members who begged him to think otherwise, Biggs would narrowly escape the massacre, injured; gasping for air as he fled for his life, he would collapse at the entrance of a nearby inn several miles from the mountain.
As Biggs left to find a new home, he would join the Tinkerer's Clan upon entering the city of [name], hoping to find compatriots or connections to help start his new life. He would quickly find out that the exploits of his family had reached far an wide, with even novice clan members refusing to work with him out of either fear or distaste with the Ironstamp name. As decades passed, Biggs would travel across the lands of [world] to find peaceful applications of the knowledge his family had passed down to him; although his standing with the clan would improve overall, many members would still view him suspiciously over the years. During his travels, he would eventually create an automaton to serve as his bodyguard to which he would name Wedge. Unlike the automatons of his father's design, Wedge was designed to not kill its adversaries, but to merely maim or injure them into surrendering, should such an event transpire.
Now 90 years old and approaching his middle years, Biggs continues his mission to cleanse his name of his family's misdeeds. Although he's heard of some troubling rumors of his hometown in recent years, he gives it no attention to further distance himself from his troubled past."
