A normally reclusive elf, keeps to himself as he tends not to trust others. His large frame is dwarfed only by his attitude, and he had plenty of it to give out.

Your story begins in tragedy, with the brutal torture and murder of your parents whilst you were forced to hide. All you were able to discern from their execution was the name Strahd, and you have sought to destroy the ones who ripped his parents from you. How you choose to do so, however, is your business.
You spoke to a revenant you'd seen stalking through the fog, gathering he was an enemy of Strahd von Zarovich, and requested his aid in slaying the vampire. However, the revenant will not march on Ravenloft without an order from the head of the Order of the Silver Dragon himself, Valdimir Horngaard. He gave you directions to Argynvostholt, where Vladimir likely resides.
Once, during your stay in Barovia, you had pleasant dreams of a better place, a better life, and while they left you confused... they also left you longing to go back. You also were in favor of killing Donovich's son, who had been afflicted with vampirism.
You passed by an old windmill with a familiar aroma of meat pie and wished to investigate it, but chose to finish your goal of escorting Ireena Kolyana to Vallaki first. Perhaps you will get the chance to go back at a later date.
A fortune teller, with knowledge far too personal to be coincidence, offered to see what the cards had in store for you, you chose to accept the offer. She spoke of powerful artifacts, allies in enemies, and a final confrontation. She did not say whether you would be victorious, though.

Backstory
Life started off slowly for the shadar-kai, his parents having been from simple living. His father held a dark secret, one that kept them away from the rest of civilization most of the time. The three earned quickly to live amongst the trees of the forest, a place that nobody would hear the outbursts of the angry child, a primal rage flowing through his blood.
It was but six years into the boy’s life when tragedy struck, men arrived at his home. These men were no ordinary travelers, as just the sight of them had caused his mother to hide him away. It was from this space that the young elf bared witness to a terrible scene, he men capturing and torturing his parents.
As the torture continued, more questions left the men’s lips. Questions that confused the boy, but somewhere in his very being he knew the truth. Questions such as “why did you try to run from us” and “are you two hiding anyone else here” gave rise to the anger inside of him, but one look to his mother’s determined eyes quickly quelled it. This continued on for several hours, his father and mother now being more wound than person, but still they persevered. Even when his mother was dragged down, and a blade put to her neck, she still continued to have that same determination to stay silent.
With the quick motion of the blade, the boy watched as the head of his mother left her shoulders. Tears welled up, but he choked down the sobs that threatened to leave his body. He knew that he couldn't give himself away, not after his parents had sacrificed themselves for him. He continued to watch as these same men then proceeded to do the same to his father, the strong features of the man that he had grown up with now gone as his life ended. The men then began to clean up the bodies, wanting to leave no trace of them having been there. The boy continued to hide, a rage filled determination keeping him silent as he listened to the men speak. Only one word sticking in his head, a strange word that had no meaning to him, the word Strahd.
The boy, now a man, has devoted himself to finding the men who ripped his family from him, the man who they had spoken about, and any others that would rip from children their futures.— Zerian Silverblood, D&D Beyond
