Ruma or rue for short was an only child to a single father Ruvan from the clan RockRacks. He was an author on books about mythical creatures. so, he would take ever since she could walk on his quest to get info for his books.
Then one day when she was about 20 while they were out at night looking for a lizardman her dad gets bitten by a feral vampire as a result he becomes a conscious vampire. So he locks himself away, making her promise to leave him be.
She then sets out on a quest to find a cure. She meets a witch. With the witch help her reads every book that has anything to do with healing or cure for the vampirisms, but to no luck then the witch tells her about a magic school that might help.
So, with the witches help she get in to the school for 2 years she tries to learn to fight and to heal and to communicate with creatures not very well in the magic department. Hoping to save her dad.
One day as she was walking in the courtyard, she steps on a snail about 3 inches. Sadden she tries to heal the snail but because she was never good at magic, she makes a huge mistake the snail lives but is wounded to the point that its very painful to move. now she and the snail can communicate though minds. Feeling guilty she carries him around he’s not very helpful and very sarcastic. Then more bad news she gets a letter from the witch that her dad has turned feral. Sadden by the news and realizing magic and her would never work, she quits the magic school and decides to follow in her fathers foot prints in writing about mythical creatures and hoping one day she can find a cure for her father
