Siegfried hails from the land of Frostfeldt, which is lies in the distant Northern landmass called Volkaràd. He is a barbarian totem warrior, guided and empowered by an ancient warrior spirit that dwells within.Born on the 9th day of the 9th month, he was brought into the world in the depths of night, brightened by the light of a full moon; a good omen, and a sign of the hunter, a sign of courage, strength and fortitude.
 
As he aged, Siegfried watched his tribe fight for land, scrounge for food, and attempt to withstand brutal winters. For years, it never changed, until one day his tribe was forced to hunt in a pine forest within elven territory. His clansmen were ambushed, torn to pieces. They were pounced upon, ripped apart, and mauled by unknown horrors in the North; animals that move and look like men. They are demons from his nightmares, and the fiends tribal elders would speak of in twisted tails of blood and death. Siegfried once believed they were just stories, tales told over a flickering fire to instill fear in children...until he saw them himself.
 
Having witnessed these disturbing events, and realizing the old stories were true, something dark begins to grow within his mind. Uneasy with the knowledge that these Ice Demons exist, Siegfried ultimately decides to leave Volkaràd with a small number of his clansmen. He pleaded for more to joing them, practically begging them to see reason and leave, but most resisted. The land was sacred, and theirs, as it had been for centuries. They would sooner die than give it up. With a heavy heart, Siegfried decided to leave them behind, and start anew. Siegfried and his kin bartered passage onto a merchant vessel sailing South, and decided to make a new life where the sky is bright, the air is warm, the fields lush, and the earth dark and rich. It seemed as if things were changing, and they dared to hope for a new start...a life free of constant war and hunger.
 
The barbarians met a steely welcome on the mainland, and were forced to move far inland, hoping to find unpopulated lands in the center of the nation of Gervànîà. There, in a thick forest, fate intervenes again. Siegfriend and his kin were viciously attacked, and only he is left alive. Drug for miles, and tied up like a dog, Siegfried was taken along as a slave. He led these brutal warriors toward a tower that offered shelter only a few days before and, as it turns out, is the very tower the warriors were searching for.
 
Upon reaching the tower, they discover the tower is not empty. A band of adventurers has taken residence in the tower, or perhaps loot it instead. The adventurers venture outside, coming face to face with these brutes. In the blink of an eye, a battle erupts. Siegfried uses this chance to free himself, and with the aide of these unlikely adventurers, regains his freedom. In the process he discovers more about the legends that haunt his nightmares. What has fate in store for him, and why is it following him so ruthlessly?
