Personal history

I gained the nickname Twitchy when I was little because I’ve never been able to sit still. I had an uneventful childhood in Ozryn City with my parents and younger brother. That was until I was about 10 when I started having incredibly vivid dreams filled with all sorts of colorful phenomena. Shortly after the dreams started, the same multicolored effects would appear in the real world and I would become unusually violent whenever I got too stressed or emotional.
 
I’d always loved art, so around that time, I decided to relieve some of my stress by painting whatever I saw in my dreams, along with my usual doodles. It was a fine and normal hobby at first, but then I started to have the urge to draw everywhere, all the time and I picked up the habit of tagging any blank wall I found. I sorta kept forgetting to ask permission before drawing, but I couldn’t stop myself. It was around this time that I learned that the law doesn’t care for graffiti too much.
 
After several run-ins with the law caused my stress to peak, I was approached by the All Seeing Eye, an organization that tries to keep the magic and non-magic worlds separate. The ASE member who found me was a halfling Paladin named Ms. Tenpenny. She filled me in on the procedures that one would normally go through, but instead of punishing me and my family for my flare-ups, she decided to help me. After several vandalism charges and accidentally resisting arrest due to my flare-ups, I decided it would be safer for my family if I left.
 
At the age of 14, I left home and became a wanderer. After a few months of traveling, I hitched a ride with an adventuring group called the Nobodies. Their resident barbarian, a Tiefling named Axe, gave me tips on how to channel my emotions into combat and gave me a bunch of old weapons he didn’t need anymore. We only traveled together for about a month, but in that time I found that I has both a talent and an interest in adventuring. I felt almost as if something in the chromatic dreamscape I experience every night had wanted me to become stronger.
 
After I parted ways with the Nobodies, I started training and doing some minor adventuring to gain some cash and acquire some experience. Every time I overcame a challenge, I started noticing that more and more imagery from my dreams had started to appear on my skin. Once I acknowledged their existence, they started to look like tattoos. The markings never stayed the same for more than a few hours.
 
Nothing of note happened after that until my seventeenth birthday. I received my daily text from my parents and started crying without realizing it. I started to feel more homesick than usual and let my guard down. Due to my increased emotions, the wild magic flared up causing small cartoonish doodles to appear in the air and then explode. I started to panic when someone cast a spell on me and managed to calm me down. That person was Artemis Aarden, a cleric of Eena. Artemis and I didn’t become friends that quickly, but due to her ability to calm me down I started to stick with her. We’ve grown fairly close over the past year, and she’s been helpful in helping me towards my goal of controlling my abilities.
 
So, I intend to continue adventuring to become strong enough to not be controlled by whatever it is that affects me.
