Personal history

Captain Vanessa Faekin, as she was eventually to be named, has no known parents. She was adopted from the streets by the Oghma Academy, an institution of religious learning and training, and bardic excellence, after showing an extreme aptitude for music.

Showing an inclination for both the bardic arts and the words of Ogham, Vanessa grew up happily in the monastery. She thrived in the City of Breles in the academy's care.

At the age of 17, the City of Breles was conscripting soldiers and clerics to be Military Chaplains in their army. Vanessa was recruited, given basic training, and told to preside over several platoons of new recriots.

The recruits were all slaughtered. Vanessa fled the army in abject horror, and returned to the Monestary. Now a deserter, the monks and her tutors there told her that it was no longer safe for her within the City of Breles. They gave her food, provisions and instruments, and also forged for her a letter of recommendation from the Bards College of Valour. Then, under cover of night, they snuck her out of the walls of the city and charged her never to return.

Since that time, a few months she has travelled the main roads away from the city of Breles. She's tried to keep her head down and herself out of trouble, abandoning her fighting ways and focussing on building a career as a travelling musician.

Employment

As a deserter from the army, Palla tries to remain under cover, posing as a bard, but that work is increasingly running dry. She does take on odd adventuring jobs when pressed for money.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Oghma Academy in the city of Breles.

Failures & Embarrassments

The new recruits she was assigned to doctor and watch over all died in the Breles War.
