Pronounced: /ʃop/.
'Xop is the Chief Sword Clinician and Instructor at Fighter's Clinic, a Shifting Tides academy of the combat arts. 'Xop is a foreigner, having arrived from lands else..where...when...how.
Only his closest friends and fellow disciples of the Purifying Flame customarily call him Porq’Xop.’ During the 26th year of his training ‘Xop disappeared from his homelands at the margins of the Celestial Kingdom and found himself quite suddenly in the lands of the Shifting Tides. His arrival in the Shifting Tides is as mysterious as his downspear fighting style, and his mythic win streak of 26.
There is a rumor that, while rare, when ‘Xop is badly wounded he flies into a muderous rage. The few who claim to have survived combat with ‘Xop, describe bursts of speed and movement, flashes of razor sharp tusks and screeching piercing sounds that paralyzed. The more skeptical claim that these descriptions are of a sounder of wild boar, lucky for ‘Xop.

Personal history
Arrival in the Shifting Tides:
I am a foreigner from lands out of space and time, from a place called the Golden City. After a dedicated day of training and ritual practice at the Dojo of Dagobah, I went to seek the wisdom of my deity. In order to commune with its Purifying Flame, I consume the prickly pear of the Nopal cactus, which only grows deep in the deserts of my people.
So deep into the desert I traveled, and the first prickly pear that I found was the largest I had ever seen with a deep purple hue, an aroma of ripened berries, and a hint of sour toxicity. I devoured it and sat down with folded legs to begin a meditative state. Soon after I heard a disembodied whisper on the breeze, and I understood it to be asking me deeper into the desert. I followed this command and trekked deeper into the desert until I arrived at a great forest of cacti as far as the eye could see. Many were in the final acts of life raising stalks deep into the clouds with blossoms so yellow you could confuse them for a 1000 tiny suns.
In a half-mad and half-starved state and surviving on only prickly pears for 26 weeks, I sustained my spiritual-meditative state for far longer than I had thought possible. And just when I thought I had finally gone completely mad in the full cosmic immolation of the Purifying Flame, I returned all at once to the immediate consciousness of my body, hand on my spear, chīmalli on my back, and macuahuitl at my side. As I looked around I realized I was no longer in my own lands, and was now afoot in these lands you call the Shifting Tides.
The 26 Month Journey through the Tides:
’Xop was a stranger in a strange land. The people he met called this place the Savage Glades, they were a rejected and downtrodden people, but a people with a noble heart and a strength of spirit. But ‘Xop knew that before he could begin to impact this world, he would need guidance from the Purifying Flame. So he decided that he would wonder the lands in search once again of its Whispers. He drifted for 26 months from the Earthsea to the Itzal Mountains, before meeting some Tesyldari traders who directed him to Matidus Mot and the Pyramid of Ahmanat. It was finally here, in a vast land that reminded him of home, which the locals called it the Bronze Desert, that he knew he would be able to reach BoB’s Purifying Flame. Without the aide of the prickly pear, there was only one other way to ready the body and soul to hear the Whispers, the fast. ‘Xop entered the Bronze Desert and began his fast and on the 26th day of his fast he heard one barely audible command repeated over and over, “share, share, share.”
The Fighter's Clinic
Heeding the heat of the Flame, ‘Xop decided to make his way back to the Savage Glades. One day after exiting the Itzal Mountains ‘Xop took up camp near the Shifting Spire and met a fellow traveler and formidable warrior named Xair. More importantly Xair was familiar with ‘Xop’s homelands. Thinking it more than a coincidence, ‘Xop decided to establish the Clinic right then and there. ‘Xop, along side Xair, created the Fighter’s Clinic as an elite academy dedicated to the study, teaching, and sharing of the combat arts. In the two years since its creation the Clinic has been visited by many of the Shifting Tides greatest warriors. Sensing a great change on the Horizon, ‘Xop has decided to help these lands weather the change and arise stronger than before.
