Wandering monk, always drunk

His mother and father were travelers, that's about all he knew about them. They stopped at a town one night and when he woke up they were gone. Did they leave him? Forget him? Did they hate or love him? He needed answers, so he wandered the town asking people where he could find the answers to his questions. Finally, someone pointed him to large building etched in the side of a mountain. When he told them he came seeking answers, and why, the monks there welcomed him. They told him his being left was a mistake, and his coming here a happy result of that mistake, so they named him Erratum, which means mistake or error. Erratum's training was harsh, his teacher was relentless, but he always gave him some liquid pain killer at the end of the day.. and so his love for alcohol began. After becoming acknowledged as a full fledged monk Erratum set out on the road to try all the alcohol the world had to offer, and in doing so maybe hear something of his parents.
